Trickster 4 brings more productivity to your fingertips by also tracking recent web documents or web links you add manually. Browser extensions are available for Chrome, Firefox and, of course, Safari. The beta will not overwrite your existing v3 data. Mac App Store and direct customers's tracking settings will be copied to v4. Setapp customers will need to start from a new setup in the beta.

🔔Trickster v4 is getting closer. We’re starting with a public TestFlight beta. It’s in a pretty good shape but we want feedback from more people. If you’re interested in trying out v4, watch this space. We’ll provide more details very soon.

The last week or so, I've been working on migrating my 4 Wordpress blogs (all related to Apparent Software) to Astro-based sites, hosted on CloudFlare. Two are now live (cashculator.app and eter.apparentsoft.com/), ImageFramer's is in progress and Apparent Software blog is next.

The easiest way to track and forecast your cashflow on macOS. Private, secure, and offline. Download the free trial

One of the main benefits is that editing articles and sites is now done in code. Articles are marked down with Astro components. This is much more manageable than WordPress visual editing, especially if AI is involved in the process.

I'm also saving money each month by shutting down the servers that hosted these sites. No need to maintain the servers, WordPress plugins, and the potential security issues that come with it. Yes, I need to maintain the Astro site, but AI can do that.

Today I have released v.1.0 of RunnerKit for Xcode. Yes, I launched it as a 0.9.x. The response has been amazing. If you like the idea of running projects as fast as possible from the menu bar, without actually having Xcode open, there’s a free trial. runnerkit.app

RunnerKit: Xcode Build & Run Companion for macOS

RunnerKit is a native macOS companion for repeatable Xcode builds and launches from the menu bar or CLI, with saved configurations, logs, and a 7-day trial.

I’ve released a small utility app that’s made my dev flow faster on my Mac. RunnerKit places a button in your menu bar, allowing you to build and run your project without actually having Xcode open. Also, it has a CLI for you or agents. runnerkit.app

After a long approval process, I am happy to be able to (finally) say that AskPlay is available on iOS and visionOS. Being able to prompt the app for what I want to hear on the go has been great. askplay.app

AskPlay: Control Apple Music with words, not clicks

A natural language command bar for Apple Music on Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Apple Vision Pro. Now with optional Private Cloud Compute. No AI API key needed.

Hey Indie Dev’s, we’re coming to the end of day 2, and it’s been a good event so far - 279 participating apps is great for July! I need to ask a favor — take a moment during the last day, find some #IndieAppSales posts from other devs and give them a boost. Let’s finish strong!

I wanted to try the new Sites feature in Codex, so asked it to make a little info site about 🎸 Jeff Beck's career. And it somehow came back looking like it had been designed by a music magazine. Very impressed: jeff-beck-sound-first.appare…

As it turns out, Anthropic engineers made a typo in their prompt and Opus 5 was “deplayed” today instead of being deployed. They promised to be more careful next time.
