Only on @thestrandgroup's MA Government Studies @KingsCollegeLon can you ask a former British Prime Minister to help you with your essays. A huge privilege to chair an exceptional final session of our No.10 and Conservative Years modules with @David_Cameron this year.

New study by @KingsCollegeLon Policy Institute measured various gaps between what people think is true of #london and what it actually true. Large misperceptions about crime, Muslims and quality of life were revealed: onlondon.co.uk/new-study-rev… @jackwbrown @MayorofLondon

This @policyatkings study is important - revealling how disconnected perceptions of London are from reality. e.g. London has the lowest violent crime in England&Wales - but many think it has the highest. Could not agree more with Prof Bobby Duffy here: thetimes.com/uk/london/artic…

Politicians and commentators have talked London down for far too long. Today’s research from Kings College shows just how far lies about our city have spread. But Londoners know the truth and we’re fighting back. standard.co.uk/news/london/l…

Catching the light around, and above, Guildhall. Views include the 15th-century Great Hall, sunlight streaming through a stained glass window in one of the medieval crypts, and Guildhall Yard (i.e. the site of London's Roman amphitheatre) and the City's skyline, taken from the roof terrace of Guildhall's West Wing.

I’ve just got round to listening to this superb documentary on how to inject decency into our politics. Well worth a listen. It’s a sign of Peter Hennessy’s stature that everyone came to tea at his house for what he sadly says will be his last broadcast 👏 bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m002yv…

Who put their dot in the English Channel?!
With a renewed focus on the north where do Britons think the north of England begins? The average Brit thinks the north of England starts just above Loughborough into Nottinghamshire. Scots on the other hand are more likely to say it begins near their border.

Discussing it last night
Our fourth Harvard-Kings paper on regional growth - a decidedly mixed stocktake of progress over the last two years, plus what the new Prime Minister needs to do to revive the growth agenda - is out today. Dan has done a great thread with a link to the paper at the top:

Andy Burnham told me: ‘I’ve never ruled out going back to national politics at some point, but it would be a mistake if people felt I’ve just been using this (the GMCA mayoralty) to plot a way back to national politics…’ (2/3)

I think the metro mayors - like London’s mayoralty - have been a great idea, with much more still to come. But do they require the same skills as leading a country? Come study devolved and central government with us at @thestrandgroup : kcl.ac.uk/study/postgraduate… (3/3)
