One flight last week leaving from al-Qassim airport north of Riyadh to Geneva on a Bombardier Global 6000 — a 14-seater long-range aircraft — sold for €94,000, compared with a price of about €60,000 before the closure of Riyadh’s main airport. ft.trib.al/K5NqPyI

“Saudi Arabia has decided not to hold its flagship investor conference in person next week and instead will hold it fully online or postpone the event entirely, people familiar with the matter said, highlighting how missile attacks on the kingdom’s airports and capital city by the Iran-backed Houthi militants in Yemen are threatening its economic ambitions.” wsj.com/world/middle-east/sa…

MAJOR BREAKING: All indications point to a MAJOR escalation about to take place in the Saudi/Yemen War. Let’s get you up to speed on what has taken place this morning. Just over an hour ago, the Saudi Coalition Spokesperson released a formal statement warning civilians in the Yemeni capital of Sana’a to prepare to evacuate undisclosed sites in anticipation of a major Saudi strike. Immediately following this, the Ansar Allah (Houthi) Spokeperson, Yahya Saree, issued his own statement saying that Ansar Allah will respond to any targeting of Sana’a with “harsh and painful” strikes on the Saudi capital of Riyadh. Just a few minutes later, it was announced by the Saudi Coalition that civilians must immediately evacuate the Yemeni OIL SITES in Sana’a in anticipation of Saudi strikes that would seek to destroy these facilities. In return, the Ansar Allah Spokesperson stated that any strikes on Yemeni oil sites would be met with the targeting of Saudi ARAMCO facilities in Saudi Arabia. This war is going completely off the rails at this point, and if Saudi Arabia proceeds with their strikes on Sana’a’s oil sites, one thing has been made abundantly clear in the last few days: Saudi might be able to hit whatever they want in Yemen… But Ansar Allah can also destroy anything they want in Saudi Arabia. ARAMCO is in SERIOUS trouble.

Oil freight rates continue to climb, with the Persian Gulf to Far East benchmark hitting ~$1.4 million a day. It was less than $50,000 a day a year ago. The rally is spilling over many other routes far away from the Middle East conflict, particularly those from US GoM and WAF.

The icing on the cake when it comes to the sad collapse of German statecraft. August Hanning, former head of the German BND, the German equivalent of the CIA, has been arrested on espionage charges. It has never happened before that a country's top intelligence officer and head of a national spy agency proved to be a spy for another state. nytimes.com/2026/10/06/world…
