Inspired by London's Thames bridges, @ceciliaknapp has written her first poem for @CityBridgeFndn's Poet in Residence programme, supported by @PoetrySociety.
'O Southwark Bridge' is the first in a series of poems based on the history and symbolism of the bridges.
Great to be at #netzerofestival where I have heated 10ml of water in 11secs, that’s currently top 10. That’s why we push #bikesforbusiness. Loads on like carbon literacy, storytelling, insurance, green growth (9% Vs 0.1 overall growth). @TeamLondonBdg

So much going on at the #BlueEarth summit in the wonderful #WoolwichWorks. Only been here 30 minutes and been inspired by repair, purpose driven comms and bcorps. Great that @TeamLondonBdg is invited as an ecosystem partner.

A terrible story: in August the Russians poisoned the Seym river, just across the border from Ukraine. Toxic chemicals went downstream killing everything: fish, molluscs, crayfish, weed. For 650kms, the Seym and Desna rivers are dead. Photos: @AlessioMamo theguardian.com/world/2024/o…

If these were employees - they’d be riding professionally procured and maintained kit, not illegal and dangerous home brew bikes.
Why do we subsidise the gig economy and these companies again?

Another year, another Autumn Statement, another call to end the cut to fuel duty.
All consecutive fuel duty freezes & cuts so far have cost the Treasury £133 billion in foregone revenue.
It's time to get the priorities right, end the freeze & invest in sustainable transport.
