Too much power for health decisions in prisons granted to people without the skills or qualifications: "that’s why people are passing away in jail". @jack_bulman #CroakeyLIVE #ImprovingPrisonHealthcare

Summing up, @JulieTongs says people need to take prison health care more seriously, stop doing "the same old same old when we know it's not working", @nimmityjah about to build a residential cultural rehab facility, investment need in AOD, family violence etc #CroakeyLIVE

Our eyes shouldn’t glaze over when we talk prison reform: we should start innovating, what are we doing with our humanity when we are locking up people, particularly overincarceration of Aboriginal people? No reason it has to be the same, we can change it. @WWeno7 #CroakeyLIVE

For a lot of people prison is "out of sight, out of mind. I think we can do a lot better with helping our men, our women get back to some normality. It costs $197k per person in prison, surely that $ can be better spent going to programs that help." @jack_bulman #CroakeyLIVE
