I disagree. While there are a lot of pointless semantic debates about "what a clear definition of AGI would mean", I got into this field because I grew up reading about science fiction robots and would like to make some of those. I consider that dream to be "AGI"

Can AI researchers please tweet: I am against racism, sexism, bullying and cancelling, and I believe in improving diversity, equity and inclusion in our AI community. We need to hear your voices! The students and the public need to know what most believe.
"Trust but verify" as in a management approach... has always creeped me out when I hear it, like an Orwellian destruction of my understanding of the word trust itself, as well as the people that use it. What's this phrase supposed to mean? (no reflection on current colleagues)
In case I come back to this, I just noticed it in Trudeau explaining the approach in CERB. In this case it makes sense as in trust (now) but verify (later). cbc.ca/news/politics/trudeau…
Thank you @svrobo ! @kindredai handled over 100M items this year alone, tremendous year-over-year and looks like much more again next year.
The 'Good Robot' Industry Commercialization Awards go to: Canvas @CataliaHealth @HDRobotics @KindredAI @Matternet @MultiplyLabs @OhmniLabs @SimbeRobotics @UbiquityR - making revenue from robotics too! svrobo.org/awards #siliconvalleyrobotics #GoodRobot #Awards2020
Also my mac just randomly restarted while I was typing an email, but 10s later I was right back in the action with restored tabs and the same half-finished sentence in gmail... both irritating and also amazing.
Congrats @kindredai and everyone who supported us along the way. Tremendous opportunity ahead for machine learning to create new AI for production robots.
BREAKING: Announcing the acquisition of @KindredAI and @HDRobotic. Together we'll advance our robotic manipulation capabilities to fully automate grocery decant, picking & packing with cutting-edge #AI #MachineVision & unique robotic arms.

When I last chatted with co-founder and head of AI @jabergT he told me building Kindred was "a new approach to how to do robotics, and we didn’t know how long it would take." Now those reinforcement algorithms are revolutionizing the supply chain for leading retailers.
