I was not scheduled to do the Friday sermon today, but whoever was supposed to do it didn’t show up.
Everyone looked at me and said you’re up.
I was totally unprepared, but one thing that came to mind that I think people need a reminder of is صبر.
Sabr is often translated as Patience but as is with most Classical Arabic, this is quite incorrect and it cannot be translated into one word. That’s just the closest and easiest English word that exists.
A better translation for Sabr would be restraint.
Now people often think that being patient or having Sabr means to be a pushover. Or that when something difficult or sad happens, you’re not allowed to express that sadness or your emotions.
This is completely wrong.
When someone has just lost a loved one and they’re crying that is not the time to tell them to have sabr and not to be sad.
It’s more about having control of yourself. Control of your limbs. Control of your tongue. Control of your soul. As it relates to what is right and wrong.
So what does that mean?
It means don’t physically do things that you shouldn’t be doing.
Don’t say things that you shouldn’t be saying.
And to have control of your soul is to not let yourself get worked up unnecessarily.
It also means to have restraint when it comes to your desires. Don’t let them control you. You must control them. Otherwise, you lose what it means to be a man.
A man who is slave to his desires is useless.
Sabr can be seen as disciplined self mastery, especially under pressure, and doing what is right, not what is easy.
Classically there are three types of Sabr.
Sabr in doing and continuing to do what is good even when you don’t want to.
Sabr in refraining from doing the things that you shouldn’t, even when you want to.
Sabr when sadness or some sort of calamity might come along. To not fall into the depths of pity and despair. To not become ungrateful. To continue to turn to God for help.
There is a war going on with all of us. And it will continue until the day we die.
That is the pull towards sin.
As humans, we will never be free from this. But there’s also the pool towards what is right and what is good.
And whichever side we feed and reinforce, that is the side that will win.
So one thing we really need to ask ourselves is which side are we feeding with every decision we make?
Every sport uses PEDs
I’d even say every discipline regardless of it being physical or mental
Only bodybuilders have the ego to act as if they know better than anyone regarding any pharma drug
Doc makes a compelling argument as to why a certain medication can be useful
Explains the mechanism and nuances
Bodybuilder who says we shouldn’t focus on drugs but always talks about drugs: aktchualyyyyy it’s just shiny new object bro, useless, you know I built these glutes without that??? Loook at my musclezzz bro
You’re all wrong
*takes some ashwaganda*
It’s not that it doesn’t work
The point people make about low volume (except the retards) is that the amount you need to make significant progress isn’t as high as one would think
Not that more volume with adequate recovery isn’t “better” for muscle building
So why do they say low volume is best? Because of the time to reward ratio and time for recovery outside of the gym
An IFBB pro or competitive bodybuilder makes lifting his life which includes additional recovery and they are optimizing beyond the typical “gains” most are looking for
For 99% of guys, including hobbybuilders, there’s just no reason to train as much because the trade off is less time for your life and they can’t just sleep 10h lol
It applies to every single discipline
A professional will spend way more time than anyone doing it but it doesn’t mean everyone should
Beyond that.. guys who aren’t going pro don’t have the skill to give 2h of volume the intensity needed (nor enough gear and recovery time/resources)
Ever since I start splitting my time at a new gym - there’s a decent amount of IFBB pros that train here. From what I’ve noticed - almost all of them are training 1.5-2 hours. High volume.
I’m not being dogmatic - I know there’s tons of ways to skin a cat. But high volume has worked for a very long time.
This is what I’m talking about
It’s a distinct estrogenic body shape
You see this in the wild, you know he’s Egyptian
His cousin will look like an IFBB pro though

Stallone has the historically normal attitude. It’s normal for parents to do what they can to help their kids have successful lives.
The “you’re on your own, kid” attitude is a relic of postwar American prosperity.
Sylvester Stallone says that having his daughter in a major role in ‘TULSA KING’ Season 4 is absolutely nepotism.
“First they go, ‘Nepotism is terrible. I said, ‘Oh please, you’re not a good parent if you haven’t performed a little nepotism.' Then obviously you don’t care about your kids, because they come first.
Of course it’s nepotism, you idiot. That’s why we’re parents. We want the best for our children. So obviously, we let them have every advantage.”

Next time you need to punish your kids send them for a walk so they become less retarded
Productive punishment
Medical and parental advice
Children averaging 5,000 to more than 12,000 steps per day day had fewer mental health symptoms than those taking less than 5,000.
Mental health symptoms were progressively lower across higher step counts with no apparent plateau, even at 12,000+ steps per day.
Brain scans also linked higher step counts to greater thickness in two specific regions of the cortex, the brain’s outer layer.
Daily movement deserves much more attention as a potential way to support kids’ mental health. That's especially clear when you consider that modern-day digital and urban environments provide little opportunity for movement throughout the day.
People, enhanced specifically, need to learn to listen to their bodies better
I know, I know the neurological enhancements of enhancements make you want to Goggins it every morning, evening, whatever
However those neurological enhancements and muscle-specific adaptations don't carryover to CNS and joint recovery
So 'de-outputing/de-loading (by means of a full rest day or two)' don't enter the mind until you really start feeling it, or snap some shit up
And then there's goes more time off, forced due to your lack of being in-tune with your body
Reaching “10% bf” was never the difficult part
Fat loss is the most straight forward part of fitness
People who actually have difficulty getting lean are natty normies who may exercise sporadically
Most PED use is to maintain/gain strength and size
Basically.. to optimize for performance hence the name
This isn’t to say there aren’t any that can help
The reality is most guys can cut to 10% without any help
The use case is for getting below that and staying there WHILE MAINTAINING PERFORMANCE
“Goys discovered the power of napping, quick we need a study that makes them stop”
Strong link between frequent daytime napping and an elevated risk of developing dementia, according to new research from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The study was about unintended napping, and in fact whether the naps were intended or unintended was a key factor examined. In addition, the researchers are not claiming causation. publichealth.jhu.edu/2026/frequent-…

Being as fat as is common today was NEVER an occurrence prior to said timeline. It’s as unnatural as it gets.

What the fuck is “food noise” and why has it been memed into collective mainstream society nowadays?
It doesn’t exist. You eat when you’re hungry and don’t when you’re not. Why is that such a difficult concept? Get the fuck outta here with all that “food noise” bullshit.

Imo it is a win. Yes agreed it’s heavily treated but if you’re looking for the best of both worlds bamboo viscose is great.
It doesn’t have the drawbacks of polyester in terms of microplastics and temperature issues for your balls.
Cotton is great too but it holds moisture and doesn’t last as long.
Bamboo viscose especially if you get OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified stuff and then wash it before you wear it is breathable and lasts longer and has no microplastics, good for chafing too and fits nicely on bigger legs.

Do carbs improve durability?
Durability is how well your physiological capabilities hold up as exercise continues. Three new cycling studies help explain where fueling fits:
• Burning through ~19% more internal carbohydrate roughly doubled the decline in power at the first ventilatory threshold.
• Consuming 100 vs. 60 g/hour reduced the drop in time-trial power after four hours: 6.4% vs. 9.3%, without detectable muscle glycogen sparing.
• Raising intake from 90 to 120 to 150 g/hour increased ingested carbohydrate oxidation, but exercise capacity didn’t differ significantly between doses (although all were better than 10 g/hour).
Carbs can help preserve late-exercise performance. But eating more, and burning more of what you eat, doesn’t guarantee a larger benefit.
