Like many people, I am departing Twitter for Mastodon; I am leaving the account up but won’t be posting here further. You can find me at mastodon.mit.edu/@ivanski.
~70% of US GDP is from blue counties but you want to turn this into a payments app after enabling right-wing shitposters and platforming Nazis.
This is gonna go just great.

X is the future state of unlimited interactivity – centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking – creating a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities. Powered by AI, X will connect us all in ways we’re just beginning to imagine.

Can’t believe that @PeterHotez fans are gathered outside Joe Rogan’s house shouting that they won’t leave until he submits a paper to a peer-reviewed journal.

Our Administration has worked hard to lower the deficit by $1.7 trillion.
The first bill House Republicans brought to the floor would help wealthy people and corporations cheat on their taxes – increasing the deficit.

PSA for those of you who send @AmazonKindle books as gifts. Amazon has in the last year grossly broken the interface for dealing with unclaimed gifts and made it vastly harder to find books you've paid for but your recipients haven't redeemed. 1/n 🧵
All of these Dark Pattern design changes amount to making it much more likely that gifts you paid for remain unredeemed (eg email gets missed, or lands in spam, or there's a typo in the address) without you easily being able to notice and nudge the recipient. 6/n
