ivWatch is redefining IV therapy safety. The world’s only continuous IV monitoring system is clinically proven to detect infiltration and extravasation events before visible signs appear, ivWatch helps prevent severe IV harm before it happens.
Backed by decades of research and clinical validation, ivWatch continuously monitors IV site integrity in high-risk care settings. IV therapy is one of the most common procedures in healthcare, yet studies show up to 50% of IVs fail before treatment is complete, resulting in pain, tissue injury, prolonged hospital stays, and higher costs.
Using a non-invasive sensor technology and a predictive algorithm, ivWatch empowers clinical teams to intervene early, improve patient outcomes, reduce liability, and drive cost savings—setting a new standard of care for IV therapy.
Our mission is bold: STOP IV HARM.

Can IV site monitoring truly make a difference in neonatal care?
Researchers evaluated more than 32,000 neonatal IV catheters and found that continuous optical monitoring was associated with fewer severe infiltration and extravasation events.
The study highlights an important conversation around early detection, proactive intervention, and reducing harm before complications escalate.

Periodic monitoring of IV sites is not enough.
In today’s care environments, clinicians are managing high patient volumes and constant demands, making it challenging to identify IV failures at their earliest stages. The gaps between assessments can leave opportunities for complications to progress before they become visible.
This isn’t about effort. It’s about having the right support to see what intermittent checks can miss.
It’s time to equip clinical teams with better tools for continuous visibility, earlier detection, and safer IV care.

Four stories. Four lives forever changed.
Not by disease.
Not by diagnosis.
By an IV complication that wasn't caught soon enough.
A newborn. A child. An adult. A parent.
IV harm doesn't discriminate.
At ivWatch, our mission is simple and urgent:
Make preventable IV injuries a thing of the past.
Because behind every statistic is a person whose life was changed in an instant.

"It's just an IV.”
Until it costs someone two fingers.
Until it requires 25+ surgeries.
Until a mother loses years of her life fighting an injury that should never have happened.
Melissa Williams went in for routine surgery and left with an IV injury that would permanently change her future.
One IV. One missed warning sign. A lifetime of consequences.
At ivWatch, we believe preventable IV harm is unacceptable. Because behind every injury is a person, a family, and a life forever changed.
It's never "just an IV.”

What if clinicians could identify IV infiltrations and extravasations associated with white-opaque infusions before they become visible?
ivWatch has submitted a 510(k) to the FDA for our new SmartTouch+™ Sensor, designed to expand IV monitoring capabilities to include infiltration and extravasation events associated with both clear and white-opaque fluids, including TPN, propofol, and other lipid-based solutions.
It’s another step toward our mission to reduce preventable IV harm and help clinicians intervene earlier, when patients are most vulnerable.

Protecting patients across the continuum of care requires unwavering vigilance.
During our visit with King’s College Hospital London, Dubai, we had the opportunity to learn more about their commitment to patient safety as the first hospital in the UAE to implement ivWatch across multiple clinical areas, including the NICU, PICU/Paediatrics, Day Unit/Oncology, and Emergency Department.
From the smallest and most vulnerable neonatal patients to individuals receiving chemotherapy, early detection and timely intervention can play an important role in helping clinicians reduce the risk of severe tissue injury during IV therapy.
We are proud to support teams dedicated to delivering safe, compassionate care at every stage of the patient journey.
In the United States alone, over 400 million short peripheral intravenous catheters are inserted annually. Approximately 56 million of these individuals suffer from infiltration and extravasation injuries.¹
Early detection technology identifies changes in the tissue near the IV insertion site, which is beyond the capability of the human eye.
Advocate for your patients and be the reason millions are safe from severe IV injuries. Fight for clinically viable, proven technology.

What if the treatment that is supposed to help patients, harms them?
Iron delivery comes in two forms - oral and intravenous. Many patients with iron-deficiency anemia opt for IV iron infusion treatments as they are more effective and tolerable than taking iron orally.
However, there are life-altering risks to patients if the iron leaks into the tissue:
• IV Iron infusions are administered rapidly, so extravasation symptoms are hard to detect before an injury occurs.
• Iron infiltrations leave a permanent orange staining on the skin.
• There is no treatment for IV iron injuries, the impact lasts a lifetime.
This is a warning to utilize extravasation detection technology and to be vigilant in monitoring IV iron infusions.

You can't improve what you don't measure.
When was the last time your organization looked closely at peripheral IV infiltrations and extravasations?
For many health systems, these events are underreported, inconsistently tracked, and difficult to see at the enterprise level. Yet they can impact patient outcomes, nursing workload, operational efficiency, and organizational risk.
Our latest article outlines the questions healthcare leaders should be asking to uncover hidden IV safety risks and drive meaningful improvement.
