Just the most amazing nonsense being talked about 20mph speed limits: it’s not fuel efficient, you’ll be looking at the speedo, it’s distracting. Good grief. Like American gun nuts demanding the right to kill people.

The WHO has now upgraded EG.5 from a variant “under monitoring” to one of “interest,” meaning it believes it could pose an “increased risk to global public health.” trib.al/rJLWJRX

Timing not great! Teachers on their knees as end of term approaches. No teacher should feel guilty for not reading this. It's a helpful doc but doesn't contain anything revolutionary. Enjoy the rest of term with your pupils - this can wait! Read when energy levels allow.

Apropos of not very much, I think we should remember that you can create very, very convincing pictures with generative AI, and that we should be careful about making assumptions on the veracity of images until we know for sure if they're real.

A big part of the problem with the DfE is that they see everything in performative not developmental terms. Sustained shared thinking isn't about meeting a 'standard' it's about developing your thoughts, ideas and feelings.
Replying to @NickGibbUK
We have drawn on the evidence for ‘sustained shared thinking’ and 5-year-olds are now expected to meet more demanding standards:

Really tired of certain MPs bashing the BBC for not acting on the allegations, when they themselves actively lobbied for the MP who abused me not to be named, suspended, or investigated, and took steps to protect him.

The Water Companies can issue a Hosepipe Ban on you due to their careless wasting of water and refusal to build reservoirs.
But no one can issue a sewage ban on them.
See how that works, see who is in charge?
Privatisation is great isn’t it?

Sir James Jacob Gilchrist Berry is a private-school-educated lawyer, former minister, and sitting Conservative MP.
He *is* the establishment.
You voted for Brexit - the establishment blocked it.
You voted for @BorisJohnson - the establishment has forced him out.
Who is in charge here… The voters or the blob?

This is a big story. DfE refused to go above 4.5% and refused to keep negotiating, assuming the pay review body would back them but it hasn't. Huge headache for them.
Exclusive: The teacher pay review body has recommended to ministers a 6.5% increase in pay for 2023/24
That’s significantly higher than the DfE’s offer to the unions and way above the Treasury’s ceiling
Yet another major headache for Rishi Sunak
