We are happy to welcome puzzlemaster and IU alumnus Will Shortz, and all the other puzzlers attending this week's convention, to the @IULillyLibrary!
IU welcomes back the "philosopher of puzzles," alumnus Will Shortz, the very first graduate of his own Individualized Major Program in enigmatology, the science of puzzles. 🧩 Since graduating in 1974, he has been the crossword editor for the New York Times, Puzzlemaster for NPR’s “Weekend Edition Sunday,” editor of Games magazine, and director of the American Crossword Puzzle Tournament. Shortz makes his way back to campus this week for the National Puzzlers’ League convention, an annual event that brings together puzzle enthusiasts to meet and solve intricate puzzles. 🔗Learn more about Shortz and this unique convention in this story from Indiana Public Media: hey.iu.edu/urj0S

The IU Center on Representative Government recently held a professional development workshop on the Bloomington campus, where Indiana teachers were inspired by American treasures, like one of the remaining copies of the Dunlap Broadside — the first version of the Declaration of Independence that was printed by John Dunlap on the night of July 4, 1776, cared for by the Lilly Library and the @eskenazimuseum. Learn more about the workshop and historic treasures right here at IU: hey.iu.edu/uqO5p
