This is a thread 🧵 please read the whole thing before asking me anything in DMs
Casteist people and the media have already decided that Sahil died by suicide because he was caught cheating. But that is an assumption which was created by Baman-Bania media of this country.

His parents have told to the media that Sahil faced caste discrimination for months before this incident. We still don't know what happened after he left the exam hall, how he was treated, or what transpired during that period. We don't even have the complete footage.

And there's another serious question. IIT Bombay's own rules for handling academic malpractice state that when an invigilator discovers malpractice, “a fresh answer book should be issued to the student, and the student should be allowed to resume writing the exam.”

Yet, reportedly, Sahil was made to write an apology letter instead. That is not the procedure described in the institute's own rules. If it wasn't the rule or procedure, why was he forced to write an apology letter??? Isn't it discrimination?

How did the specific portion that fits the cheating narrative get leaked and circulate on social media? @iitbombay account made several posts about the incident but never publicly acknowledged the leak or said that it was investigating how the footage had reached media.

It was only when @Sonpimplerahul raised the question that the @iitbombay director Shirish Kedare acknowledged the leak & said it was being investigated. The institute's other posts on page @iitbombay & the way the narrative was presented serious questions..

about the intention of administration of IIT Bombay and whether @iitbombay is more interested in controlling the public perception of this incident. It creates the impression that the institute is trying to shield Doolla.

Doolla has been sent on leave after being removed from his dean post. But he was not arrested or suspended. There was protest in support of doolla even before the investigation was properly started and administration didn't pay a heed.

In fact the protest was carried out by faculty members in support of Doolla. And there was no opposition from Kedare. Just for information look at the composition of faculty members at @iitbombay

And then the brutal ways the protests demanding justice for Sahil were crushed and Ambedkarite protesters detained. Among those standing in solidarity were the parents of Aniket Ambhore and Darshan Solanki, alongside Sahil's own parent.

All of this raises serious questions about whether @iitbombay is shielding Doolla. The Baman-Bania media cannot be allowed to control the narrative. An impartial investigation is essential. But from everything we've seen so far, it doesn't look like we're getting one.

There are a few select Bihari suvarn living under the delusion that what they got away with in Bihar in the 90s will work everywhere. They are glorifying the Ranvir Sena. Remember how the mukhiya ended up in a drain? Not all states are like Bihar. Stop living in delusion.
These are the kind of folks who had led to formation of Ranveer Sena. Pray no one wants to go back to those dark times.
