Safaricom and Pesapal have partnered to roll out new M-PESA payment options in Kenya: — Dynamic Scan-to-Pay: Customers scan a QR code on a Pesapal POS, with merchant details and the payment amount automatically populated. — Tap-to-Pay: Customers with NFC-enabled smartphones can tap their phone on a Pesapal POS, verify the transaction and pay. — AI Pay: Customers scan a printed or handwritten receipt on My OneApp, which automatically identifies and fills in Till/PayBill details and the payment amount. Scan-to-Pay is already available at more than 60,000 merchant outlets, with Safaricom targeting 500,000 within the next year.
