What a 10th wicket stand.
a journey of disinformation in the era of the internet, AI, and sharp geopolitics.
Today @itsalitm and I discussed the case of the 2 Bangladeshis who were executed in Saudi. In this clip I explain some of the details of the case and why such a harsh punishment was given. I forgot to mention that there are about 100 million visitors to Makkah every year - many women and children - and Saudi authorities would not want to risk such a precedent being set that would risk the safety and honor of pilgrims.
With tensions rising across the Middle East, the conversation shifts to critical chokepoints and asymmetric threats: What would happen if Iran or regional actors target undersea marine internet cables?

Saudi Air Force completely obliterating Houthi’s weapons supplies via Hudaydah. Note the following:
1- This wasn’t through the regular Hudaydah port, but makeshift and discreet ports to try and sneak supplies in
2- The ships that brought these supplies were almost all wooden dhows designed to smuggle supplies and evade detection with minimum acoustic signature (wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t even have engines)
3- You can clearly see cylindrical objects that are probably missile parts
What this clip doesn’t show is whether the Saudis were monitoring where these ships came from and/or if they let a few of these ships to sail back so as to track their movements.
Great work, Saudi boys! 🇸🇦
this is newsy.
👀 WTF! 82-year-old BBC World Affairs Editor John Simpson CAUGHT on camera asking presenter Geeta Guru-Murthy for a KISS the moment he thinks the cameras are off!
After wrapping an interview about his 60 years at the BBC, Simpson can be heard saying: “I couldn’t, I suppose, have a kiss?”
She agrees, the kiss is clearly audible, and he adds: “Thank you so much, really lovely.”
She then realises they’re still LIVE and scrambles back, laughing nervously: “Sorry! Sorry! We are still on air… I hadn’t realised that.”
An 82-year-old senior BBC journalist casually asking a younger female colleague for a kiss the second he thinks no one’s watching. This is the organisation that lectures the rest of the country on standards and behaviour.
Another example of the culture inside the BBC, and yet they still demand the licence fee while trying to extend it to streaming. Scrap it!
As a print media journalist originally, I say the real killers of the newspaper impact-wise in Pakistan are:
1- Technology
2- Flawed Business model
3- Censorship
Pakistani media is already dying. Newspapers are losing circulation due to censorship. Now authorities have sealed the newspaper market in the capital of Pakistan. Newspaper distribution is suspended. Message is very clear for the media. Pack up and start some other business.

When host Arnab Goswami launched unexpected allegations against Chinese analyst Professor Victor Gao regarding Pakistan, the debate escalated beyond standard journalism into what Tangen describes as a calculated televised ambush.

Tesla just made a Roadster that sticks to the ceiling, fires rocket thrusters, and flies. Full event, every demo, dead air cut 🚀
• Live at SpaceX McGregor: fan suction strong enough to hold it upside down, plus SpaceX-derived cold-gas thrusters (Tesla says 4–5x tire force)
• 0–60: Tesla lists <1.6s (Performance), <0.9s (Thrust), <0.59s (Rocket). On stage, a live run clocked 0.81s
• Tesla lists 300+ mi range and 230+ mph top speed (Rocket). Elon wants to "crack halfway to the speed of sound"
• Two carbon-overwrap air tanks, ~600 L and ~250 kg of air, 10 nozzles, and it refills itself. No special propellant
• Rocket version "can fly" (invite only, per Tesla). Elon: the last manually driven car Tesla will make
• Production in 2028 was mentioned on stage (unconfirmed). Tesla hasn't announced price or delivery dates

Amazing that we just talked about this. Stay tuned for our next episode.
On @itsalitm podcast I talked about the expansion of the conflict and that the Houthis will start hitting Qatar and the UAE. Marandi is confirming that here. And don’t take this as silly talk. Remember Marandi and Co kept saying that Bab Al-Mandab will be ignited at the opportune time. I will share the episode whenever it’s published.
Fatah-4 is a terrain hugging missile which flies at only 50m altitude and can strike a target 750 km away with a 5m accuracy!
Terrain hugging: Uses terrain imagery for navigation even when all communication/GPS is denied i.e. fire and forget.
50m altitude: Not visible on long range radar. Little time for air defence or drone to intercept.
750 km range with 5m accuracy: Precision weapon, to take out specific targets like S-400.
NEW: Pakistan successfully tested an extended-range version of its Fatah-4 cruise missile, a terrain-hugging weapon that flies at about 50 meters altitude to evade air defenses.
The baseline version has a 750 km range with ~5 meter accuracy.
The military confirmed the new variant flies farther but didn't say how far.
It's a conventional weapon under Pakistan's Army Rocket Force Command, separate from its nuclear arsenal.
