Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated. We should be honest about the whole history, not select the parts that are politically convenient today, especially given Britain's leading role in ending the transatlantic slave trade. If Caribbean countries are asking Britain for a formal apology for Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, will they also be asking the same of the descendants of African kingdoms, rulers and merchants who captured, sold and profited from the trade? On demands for reparations, whether through cash or debt relief, we have been down this track before. Twenty-five years ago, Jubilee 2000, Drop the Debt and Make Poverty History argued that cancelling the debts of poorer countries would give them a fresh start. More than $100 billion of debt was eventually written off, but many of those countries have since built up even bigger debts. Labour are already spending too much on Britain's welfare state, now is not the time for Andy Burnham to be providing global welfare. There is no reason British taxpayers today should be held financially responsible for things that happened generations before any of us were born. And I have even less patience for political elites in commonwealth countries who don’t know how to make their own citizens prosperous now looking for another opportunity to blame Britain. As Prime Minister, Andy Burnham should be Britain’s greatest defender. Instead, he is writing articles saying we need to confront our history (as if we haven't done enough of that) and considering another formal historical apology. Tony Blair already expressed Britain’s deep sorrow and regret for our role in the slave trade nearly twenty years ago. There is no need to do so again. This is all another navel-gazing distraction. The Commonwealth should be looking forward, not endlessly backwards. That means economic partnerships to make us all richer and deeper military and security cooperation against common threats. If every Commonwealth summit becomes an exercise in presenting Britain with demands for cash then we need to start asking if it is worth the effort.

Here's an astonishing stat: Just over half of all visas granted to care workers in 2023 were sponsored by employers that have since lost their licences, mostly due to fraud or abuse. That’s ~200,000 people once you include dependants. None of them have had their visas revoked.

Burnham listened to the people, and decided to do the opposite
From today, charities can apply to sponsor refugees through new, capped Named Community Sponsorship and Refugee study safe and legal routes. Sponsors will provide accommodation, integration support and help finding work. First arrivals are expected in autumn 2027.

The Economist on racial disparities: Black women four times as likely to die in pregnancy or labour: “Troubling” Afghans seven times as likely to be convicted of sex crimes: “The numbers need to be kept in perspective”
Our analysis suggests that Afghans are convicted of sex crimes in England and Wales at seven times the British rate. But the numbers need to be kept in perspective economist.com/britain/2026/1…

No. The British people do not want Gazan students. Most, if not all, will have been taught to hate Jews since the crib. We have a crisis of antisemitism - we should not be endangering more British Jews.
🚨#BREAKING: The British government announces it will start issuing expedited visas to Gazan students so they can move to the UK & study at British Universities. The UK will also "establish a permanent framework for more refugee students to come study in the UK"

Both of "Westminster." Both live in Zone 1 London accommodation with easy access to the best facilities and largest jobs market in GB and yet likely living on benefits and arrested for plotting against us. Thanks for integrating, lads.

Basic infrastructure in our country is literally crumbling. And yet the charity that's supposed to maintain London's bridges is funnelling millions to climate activists and groups with alleged ties to Hamas. We are truly through the looking glass now.

When Reform's letters to postal voters in Portsmouth were ready to go out, two undercover ITV reporters were personally responsible for almost two hundred of them in the ward of Drayton and Farlington. Reform lost Drayton and Farlington by 24 votes. The same two men were responsible for delivering leaflets to half the ward of Baffins. Reform lost Baffins by 85 votes. These were men whose purpose was to infiltrate Reform UK and damage it. In two wards decided by a few dozen votes, we believe there are reasonable grounds to conclude that ITV altered the result of British elections. There is no precedent for this. It is certainly not journalism. We believe it to be criminal. We will hold ITV and its activists to account.

In my tribunal meeting, the NHS hired a lawyer to scrutinise my online posts. Below is the one where I criticised this doctor. They asked me, “Why did you post it?” I said, “Because he’s keeping his job for removing women’s ovaries & I’m losing mine for supporting grooming gang victims.” The NHS management are scum.
Arab doctor removed two women's ovaries without their consent, without telling them and with no medical purpose. NHS gave him a talking to and he is still a doctor seeing young women today. In a healthy country he would be hung for this. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c9rk…

You voted to put the rights of illegal migrant men before the safety of women and girls. That’s what happened yesterday. Don’t try to pretend otherwise. Do you think British people didn’t have rights before the ECHR and won’t have them after we leave? Do you think that Australians, Canadians and New Zealanders don’t have rights because they aren’t in the ECHR? It’s a nonsense argument and you know it. If you genuinely believe this nonsense you have written, then your complete ignorance of how rights in this country came about is as shocking as your failure to listen to the genuine concerns of women about their safety.
Today the Tories pushed a vote to leave the ECHR. A vote to destabilise our relations with the EU and undermine the Good Friday Agreement. A vote to join Russia and Belarus as the only European countries outside. A vote to turn their backs on a charter championed by Churchill.

The European Parliament just voted to call for the Muslim Brotherhood to be added to the EU's terror list. So why on earth haven't we? It’s clear the Muslim Brotherhood and its extremist ideas have no place in Britain. Reform will proscribe it as a terrorist organisation.

Please stop calling them “small boats”. The vessel that landed in Gosport carried almost enough invaders to fill an Airbus A321. Nobody would describe that as a “small plane”. Terrorists and murderers are being welcomed by Labour. SECURE OUR BORDER NOW
