What is intelligent failure? Great explanation from @HelenBevan on the work of @AmyCEdmondson ⬇️ @ImprovementCym @TheIHI #Quality2024
I'm at #Quality2024 live, listening to @AmyCEdmondson talking about principles from her book “The Right Kind of Wrong – The Science of Failing Well”. Amy differentiates three kinds of failures in organisations:
1) Basic failures: caused by carelessness or ignorance
2) Complex failures: caused by a combination of multiple systemic factors, none of which would have caused failure on its own
3) Intelligent failures (the most productive kind): where organisations/teams test new ideas, at small scale to learn & develop.

Here's another article on Amy's book that focuses on psychological safety & risk taking: lnkd.in/eqS3P2bM Via @HBSWK
The inspirational @AmyCEdmondson “We must rethink what excellence looks like - let’s anticipate and expect intelligent failures and embrace and learn from them” - we need psychological safety to do this @ImprovementCym @TheIHI #Quality2024
Inspiring session from Sarah Patmore our Head of Improvement Capability, join us on stand 8 at 3pm to learn more about our learning in Wales from our maternity and neonatal safety discovery phase @TheIHI #Quality2024 @ImprovementCym
Sarah Patmore, Head of Improvement Capability is sharing the learnings of the national #NHSWales Maternity & Neonatal Safety Support Programme describing how @TheIHI Framework for Safe, Reliable and Effective Care was used to draw out data in the discovery phase. #Quality2024
Really important message from @KedarMate - By focusing on reducing inequality we will reduce variation and save lives - making improving inequity a systematic process will deliver significant change, we have a choice and can choose to prioritise the vulnerable #Quality2024
Great session from @Jlyons1978 showing the power of storytelling, brand identity and engaging with people to bring communities together for change. Backed by stats for credibility. Making a real difference to lives #Quality2024
Now onto @Jlyons1978 and how @WHUFoundation utilises sport to work with communities. Sport is something that is a beating heart for many communities and a natural meeting point, so why not do some good with it?
