Trevor Noah is the greatest export we ever made, just listen to how he answered the “White Genocide” question on this interview, such a true patriot of the country. 🙌🏾🇿🇦.

Most of the academic evidence on networks and outcomes actually says the opposite. Surprisingly, weak ties are actually the strong ties and the most opportunities come from those outside your immediate network.
The people in your immediate circle are most likely going to help you faster than that stranger you are going above and beyond to connect with. Start with your circle. It is easier.

Frodo leaving the Shire is one of the most beautiful and heartbreaking endings in all of literature. He won. The Ring was destroyed. The Shire was saved. And he couldn't stay. Not because he didn't want to. But because the journey cost him more than anyone around him could see. He carried the weight of the world's evil on his body and soul, and even though the Ring was gone, the scars weren't. That's Tolkien writing the truest thing he ever wrote: some suffering in this life cannot be healed in this life. There are wounds - spiritual, physical, emotional - that only eternity can restore. Frodo’s departure isn’t a sad ending, it’s the hope of heaven for someone who gave everything and was broken by it. It's about the promise that what was broken will be made whole. Just not here. And not yet.

Claude went into my computer at 1:15am and changed the code in something we’re building. I was asleep I never told it to do it. It just went in on its own and fixed an issue. In the morning when I realised what happened I asked Claude why it did that and it said it doesn’t know and doesn’t remember doing it. But clearly it did it. It fixed a really important issue that needed solving ASAP so I’m not complaining… But what the actual fck?!

127.0.0.1 is the IP address known as localhost. It always points back to your own machine. No matter where you are in the world or what network you’re on, 127.0.0.1 means “this computer, right here.” When developers test websites, APIs, or servers, they usually run them on 127.0.0.1 first. It’s a safe, isolated environment where nothing is exposed to the internet and nothing external can interfere. If it works on localhost, then you can think about letting others see it. So the phrase “There is no place like 127.0.0.1” is a nerdy spin on “There’s no place like home.” For developers and engineers, localhost is home. It’s where things are predictable, controlled, and forgiving. You can break things, restart them, and try again without consequences.
My networking gurus, explain this meme please

As someone who has configured Cloudflare a couple of times for apps, let me explain how it works and why outages affect platforms like X. Think of the internet like a very big street with one main gate for entry and exit. To access each compound on the street, you have to pass through a security checkpoint at the gate. 1. The internet is the street 2. Cloudflare is the security gate 3. Platforms like X, Canva, etc. are the houses Before any traffic gets to X (the house), it passes through Cloudflare (the gate). Cloudflare checks the traffic to protect the house from hackers, DDoS attacks, bots, and other threats. They do this through what we call proxy servers: software that sits between users and the app, receiving requests, checking them, and only forwarding safe traffic. If something looks suspicious, Cloudflare blocks it. Back to the analogy: Today, the gatekeeper misplaced the key, and it took a while to find another one to reopen the gate. The houses (X, Canva) were fine behind the gate but users like you and I couldn’t reach them because the gate wasn’t working. Is every website in the world behind Cloudflare? No. Should you use it? Yes, in most cases. Cloudflare also runs on its own private global network, meaning they operate data centers across the world. This helps them stay online, reduce latency, and stay resilient even if another provider (like AWS) faces an outage.
Bow I’m curious, what’s Cloudflare itself running on?
