𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 The Committee on Physical Infrastructure, chaired by Hon. Mwine Mpaka, will visit the Intelligent Transport Monitoring System (ITMS) to inspect how digital number plates facilitate vehicle tracking and monitoring. This follows a meeting with Security Minister Hon Jim Muhwezi, who briefed the Committee on the system’s implementation, functionality and role in enhancing road safety, security and crime prevention. "The ITMS team retrieves and analyses the available information, which may include vehicle identification records, movement data, locations, timestamps and other relevant system generated information within the scope of the authorised request," said Minister Muhwezi.
