Luis Hernandez shares how working in a specialized law-enforcement unit helps him 'see things in slow motion in the cage': “We deal with active shooters, any type of shooting, high-stress situations, anything where it’s a priority call. My unit’s gonna go to, we’re gonna respond, and we train a lot. I just see things in slow motion when I’m in the cage. I think it’s because of the repetition and the high-stress situations. You get so used to doing it so many times that the nerves become something you’re used to. I’m very blessed. We get an hour every day to train on duty, and then I use my PTO, vacation and comp time to train as well. I have a great schedule where I can train multiple times a day. If Stipe Miocic did it as a firefighter, it’s time for an officer to do it.”
