And the so-called father-and-son duo?
After decades in the industry, their box office pull with Kerala audiences has hit rock bottom: zero. Their films arrive with loud hype and leave without a trace. Theatres sit empty, and the buzz is gone by the first weekend.
"Pathetic" is far too small a word for where they stand in Mollywood today. This isn't a slump. It's a free fall. Kerala's audience has already moved on, and maybe it's time their fans did too.
#Jailer2 ROARS past ₹46 crore at the Kerala box office! 🔥🔥
Superstar Rajinikanth's mass entertainer is now the 6th highest-grossing film of all time in Kerala, overtaking Mammootty's #BheeshmaParvam! 😂🔥
Just a matter of a few days!

Septic tank 😏
Even though #Mohanlal is a huge superstar in Malayalam, he has no stardom outside Kerala.
In Tamil Nadu, Telugu States, Karnataka, or the Hindi market, only film lovers and industry professionals know about him .
He failed to create a market among ordinary audiences there, whereas Mammootty had a good Tamil market in the 80s and 90s (he lost it after 2000s)
All of Mohanlal's box office collections outside Kerala come from local Malayalis,he has no influence beyond them.
Despite this, he chooses side roles. His roles in movies like #Jilla, #Kaappaan, and #Jailer2 are deeply humiliating. Bcz of his low popularity outside Kerala, a great artist like him is being exploited.
We wish to see #Iruvar Kind of legendary performances from him with better mastery of tamil accent .
