The P/C read swings & see if it lines up w/ plan of attack. Most* pitchers enter game w/ plan & adjust (certain pitch may feel better than others). Chess game is pitcher vs hitter strength, or ability of P to expose hitter. Analytics always lay groundwork, execution is X factor

There’s obviously a correlation with velocity and injury. Pitchers offseason throwing programs seem to be focused around maximizing velo, my offseason consisted of intense long toss, weight lifting and just building overall strength.
