When Roe was overturned and women bled out in ERs, we heard “states’ rights. When guns became the #1 killer of kids, still “states’ rights.” But one protest against injustice? Suddenly there’s federal boots on the ground. They don’t panic when people die, only when they speak.

Today at @CellSystemsCP we report in back-to-back papers (!) led by @nbwang22 on how cell state potentiates the influence of individual transcription factors to drive cell-fate programming
&
how we used these insights to scale up production of motor neurons from primary fibroblasts, allowing us to deliver these directly converted neurons into the brains of mice.

Chandrayaan-3 Mission update:
The spacecraft's health is normal.
The first orbit-raising maneuver (Earthbound firing-1) is successfully performed at ISTRAC/ISRO, Bengaluru.
Spacecraft is now in 41762 km x 173 km orbit.
I am so beyond grateful to have been apart of @GallowayLabMIT as an undergraduate UROP student since my Sophomore year!!! I couldn’t have asked for a more supportive and intellectually stimulating lab environment! Thank you Professor Galloway and Chris Johnstone!

2. The FDA approved a vaccine for RSV, which hospitalizes some 60,000 seniors each year.
The vaccine reduced the risk of developing severe RSV infections by 94.1 percent. It's a success story that is *literally* 60 years in the making.

3. A "vaccine printer" can load mRNA or other vaccines into a microneedle patch, and immunize mice just as well as traditional injections.
The patches can also be stored for 6 months at room temperature! A big deal for low resource countries.

1. Fusing a protein from HIV to Cas9, and then incubating this protein with peptides, helps gene editors better enter cells.
This is a big deal. The approach is probably transferrable to other proteins, including Cas12, base editors, prime editors, etc.
