So she was first author on his key paper - in fact she's on most of his key papers, yet she didn't get the Nobel Prize, in spite of the fact they could have given 3 awards, not just 2. Explain to me how STEM is not institutionally sexist.
Congratulations to our 2024 medicine laureate Victor Ambros ✨ This morning he celebrated the news of his prize with his colleague and wife Rosalind Lee, who was also the first author on the 1993 'Cell' paper cited by the Nobel Committee. #NobelPrize

Let's applaude @DominikRivoir for his efforts to protect us from BatchNorm-related pitfalls in #SurgicalDataScience applications 👏
New paper out at Medical Image Analysis! sciencedirect.com/science/ar… Using only CNN-LSTMs, we beat SOTA on 3 surgical video tasks, outperforming Transformers. What did we do? Turns out, the key components are simply: - end-to-end training - a backbone without BatchNorm! 🧵1/5

Good reminder that the publishers MDPI and Frontiers use predatory practices. We are not sending our research to them. #predatory #journals

Read the paper to learn - How many different ways there are to compute the F1 score - How metrics are implemented with "relaxed boundaries" and why this actually does not do what it should - How recent methods compare to each other (2/2)
