We're thrilled to announce we have signed an MoU with ALTEC, an Italian centre of excellence for engineering and logistics services supporting space operations and planetary exploration missions.
Testing, simulation, and operator training in analogue lunar environments are essential to successful lunar surface operations. Under the MoU, we will assess opportunities for ispace-EUROPE to use ALTEC facilities to simulate rover platform operations in lunar analogue environments.
Through this collaboration, we have the opportunity to bring together ispace-EUROPE’s expertise in lunar rover development and operations with ALTEC’s advanced facilities and expertise testing for planetary mission operations.
With ALTEC owned by Thales Alenia Space and the Italian Space Agency (ASI), this agreement reflects the growing strength of Europe’s lunar exploration ecosystem.
By working with leading partners across Europe we can accelerate the development of robust, operationally ready rover systems that support future science, exploration and space resource utilization missions on the Moon 🇮🇹🇱🇺🌙

It’s been a busy week at #IAC2026!
ispace-EUROPE CEO Julien Lamamy recaps on the two MoU signings with @ArianeGroup and both @LDO_Space and @telespazio.
At the very core both MoUs are about combining ispace lunar solutions with leading European capabilities - demonstrating we can accelerate the development of the lunar ecosystem through collaboration 🇪🇺🌙
A first look at Alpine, one of the relay satellites being developed by our @ispace_us_inc team to support communications from the lunar far side!
Designed, fabricated, assembled, and tested in-house, Alpine’s structural test model represents another step forward in developing the infrastructure needed to support future lunar exploration.
Here's a first look at Alpine, one of the two ispace-U.S. relay satellites that will support communications from the lunar far side.
Our team built a structural test model from the ground up and is putting it through testing now. We designed it, fabricated it, assembled it and tested it in-house. Taking a design off the page and building real hardware is the part our engineers love most.
This is just the start. More from Alpine is coming soon.
This morning at #IAC2026, ispace Founder & CEO Takeshi Hakamada joined the plenary discussion “Navigating the Cislunar Crossroads: Partnerships, Security and Japan as a case study,” moderated by Charlotte Nassey, Senior Government Affairs & Policy Lead at @ispace_EUROPE.
As activity around the Moon continues to grow, the panel explored how international cooperation, interoperability, and standardization of interfaces can shape a resilient and sustainable cislunar ecosystem.
"The Moon is a blank page. You can imagine anything you want, and that inspires innovation," said Hakamada-san as the session closed. 🌙
