My heart is still shattered every single day since my beautiful boys, Mark and Jacob, were taken from us by Rebecca Grossman.
I’ve seen claims from the Grossman family that I “don’t want closure,” that I’m filled with “vile malice forever.” Nothing could be further from the truth.
Since the moment I lost them, only one feeling has lived inside me: **overwhelming, endless sadness**. Sadness that they’re not here. Sadness that their little brother Zachary misses them every second. Sadness that our family will never be whole again on this earth.
My only hope for true closure is the promise in the Bible—that one day I will see my boys again in heaven. That is the day I quietly long for. Until then, the ache never leaves.
I do **not** carry hatred or wish malice on the Grossman’s. Especially not on Nick. I think of him often—sitting in that courtroom, watching his mother led away in handcuffs, then having to text her boyfriend to leave his family alone. Imagining the heartbreak and confusion that young man felt shakes me to my core. It reminds me how the choices parents make can either protect or shatter their children’s hearts. My prayers are with Nick- No child should ever have to endure that pain.
To everyone who has asked: I want to be very clear—I am **not** the admin of the “Justice for Mark and Jacob” Facebook or Instagram page, and I do not post there. It was lovingly created and is run by a caring community member who was heartbroken by what happened and wanted to honor my sons and seek truth. I’m deeply grateful for the love and support these pages represent, but they are not mine to speak for.
All I want is for my boys’ smiles and laughter to be remembered, and to raise Zachary with their memory alive in our home, and to one day hold Mark and Jacob again.
Thank you for reading my heart. If you’ve lost someone, if you’re grieving, if you believe in second chances for broken families—please know you’re not alone. Your kindness here means more than words can say. 💙
Mark & Jacob—forever in my soul. Until we meet again.

6 years ago today, my two precious sons died first Mark around 7:11 pm then Jacob a few hours later.
Please say their names ….Mark and Jacob
It was a Tuesday just like today 6 years ago.
It was Covid lockdown and all I wanted was to get the kids out of the house to get some fresh air… but 2 of them died.

In celebration of Mark’s 17th birthday in Heaven, I sat down with Michelle, who also lost a son and we discussed the pain we were entrusted with.

Mark — happy heavenly birthday!! I miss you!
I still can’t believe you’d be 17 today. Six years have gone by since you left, and I hate that I can no longer picture, with any real confidence, how you’d look now.
I miss you and I promise I will continue to keep your memory alive as long as I am alive and breathing

God bless the firefighters and first responders who ran towards the danger and did not shy away from it.

The story of the murderer of my boys
She was 57. Married. Two kids. A charity face. That night she raced her lover home after drinks. 73 mph through a crosswalk. Mark, 11. Jacob, 8. Both dead. She kept driving until the car died.
Got convicted Murder. 15 to life.
Her husband Peter stood by her for five years. Knew she was cheating. Knew she kept texting the lover after she killed them. Paid the lawyers. Walked her into court. Testified for her.
Then the civil verdict millions for our family.
That’s when he stopped playing loyal. She signed everything over to him. House into a trust. Divorce timed so we couldn’t collect. Five years of “stand by your wife” was never love. It was protecting the money until the checks came due.
That’s why Peter Grossman stayed. Not for her for the public figure and assets
The “world renowned” plastic surgeon who didn’t care to be cheated on in front of the whole community has now filed for divorce.

Fetal DNA present in maternal brains,
Our babies live inside us, not figuratively- no wonder with them dead, our life feels impossible.
Researchers at Fred Hutchinson examined the brains of 59 women after death. In 63 percent of them they found male DNA, almost certainly left behind by a son. The oldest of those women was 94, and the cells were still sitting there.
Around week four or five of pregnancy, before most women have told anyone, a handful of the baby's cells cross into the mother's bloodstream. Some of them never leave. Scientists call it microchimerism, meaning you are carrying a few of another person's cells inside you. Doctors at Leiden University in the Netherlands checked organs from women who had recently been pregnant and found the baby's cells in every single one. Liver, lungs, thyroid, kidneys, bone marrow, skin, heart.
They do not sit idle. When researchers in Ireland biopsied cesarean scars from 70 women, they found the baby's cells living in the skin as ordinary skin cells, making collagen and repair proteins right at the cut. The child helped close the wound its own birth made.
At Mount Sinai, scientists tagged fetal cells with a glowing marker in pregnant mice, then damaged the mothers' hearts. The fetal cells went to the injury. They became heart muscle and the lining of blood vessels. Nobody has proven the human version yet, but doctors have noticed for years that women who develop heart failure around childbirth recover better than almost any other kind of heart failure patient.
In a study of 177 women, fetal cells appeared in the blood of 85 percent of the healthy participants and only 64 percent of the women who had a very early, non-invasive breast cancer. Nobody has worked out yet whether the cells are doing the protecting. The same cells also turn up in Hashimoto's, an immune condition that attacks the thyroid, so this is a gift with complications.
A French team looked at umbilical cord blood in 2021 and found cells belonging to the baby's grandmother in 5 of 28 samples. Cells that crossed one placenta decades earlier had crossed a second one. Three generations of women, alive in a single bloodstream.
Which means the pull a mother feels toward her child has a physical form. It sits in her liver, her heart, and often her brain, and it stays there for the rest of her life.

The death of a child, as much as it leaves the world broken, can also be a source of hope for others facing pain
