would be so awesome to have a common grasp of feminism in this particular moment instead of the preeminent gender slop
the weather today is the kind of perfection where the temperature of the air feels like the exact temperature of my own body

One person I spoke to likened Elise Bainbridge Hill, an artist who spent years living in Central Park, to “a piece of hard rock in the mountains that had just tumbled down into the city.” I wrote a short ode to her life and art in this week’s @NYMag issue.

"I used to think that, if I could just make it to the end of my pregnancy with a safe and healthy baby, I would be able to breathe easy. But I was born safe and healthy, and I am now thirty-four years old, and my own mother still doesn’t breathe easy."

is there a nice leather bag with a strap that buckles? a nice leather bag u can wear crossbody over 5 sweaters + parka, and buckle it at the front (like a chic caribener clip?) so that u don't have to gymnastically remove it, NOR wear like a tote (it will obv slide off). like so
if you were mean to me last week just know we were all talking about you at my family dinner and my parents hate u
saying a prayer for the triumphal return of punk in 2026. we can’t be doing ‘get the bag’ anymore, it’s ‘fuck the man’ only. This goes for politics, art, clothes. No more sell-outs and posers. no more corporate loyalty. diy rises again. Amen.
Wrote about loving Ralph and Armani and vintage, even if they won’t keep me out of shopper’s hell. nytimes.com/2025/12/07/opini…
lots of serious people these days trying to elevate marketing as being akin to a literary art. i'm not falling for it!!!
in which I'm begging, screaming, pleading for us all to consider, once again, feminism.
The administration’s tariff regime is a buy-one-get-one-free restoration of American economic might and American masculinity, both of which are in crisis, according to the MAGA right. The crisis of disaffected men will be solved, we’re told, through emotional connection and dignity through work. It’s back to the factory for men everywhere, finally able to shrug off the tyranny of effete email jobs or the seclusion of mom’s basement. A poll from last summer found that 80 percent of Americans believe the country would be better off if more of us worked in manufacturing than we currently do.
