"People defecating in the open are also using and charging cell phones!" @KVairavamoorthy. Yes! And we keep offering them out latrines and hand pumps. Madness!! Couldn't agree more with Kala's slide. @ihedelft #WaterActionAgenda Symposium
Analysis by @ihedelft of different commitments. Based on data from @SustDev. This is what the #WaterAvtuonAgenda from the 2023 UN conference is based on.
Remember the UN Water conference? Remember all those commitments. Wondered what happened to them? Me too!!! Looking forward to learning a little more at @ihedelft this afternoon. @IRCWASH @sanwatforall
Private finance comes to a strong and well regulated sector. Couldn't agree more with Sr. Leonardo Picciani, Secretary for Environmental Sanitation from Brasil. Private finance isn't a WASH magic money tree - it goes to where it can make a return. #2024FMM @sanwatforall
Sharing experiences on reducing inequalities in water and sanitation. @waterforpeople CEO Mark Duey presenting experiences from Bolivia. Smart and targeted use of subsidy to bring sanitation services to the poor. #2024FMM @sanwatforall
Listening to @DrTedros at our @sanwatforall LAC Finance Minister's Meeting. Water, "Sanitation and Hygiene are *the* most cost effective and impactful health interventions". Yes! Investing in WASH *is* investing in health.
Love this slide. YES we need evidence about HOW to strengthen systems. No we don't need evidence that strong systems are essential for quality services. The first pink bullet! At Osprey/Aguaconsult workshop on next steps for systems strengthening. @AngelaMHuston @Aguaconsult
Mid morning champagne to celebrate the birthday of the @Aguaconsult Employee Owned Trust. Proud to be a founding independent trustee. Congratulations and good luck to everyone
.@wateraid Amaka Godfrey. Main lesson from years of systems strengthening work.. its all about political leadership. Agree! And our shared challenge .. to generate and support and serve that leadership! @WASHstrong @sanwatforall #AllSystemsConnect2023
