Last month, Dr. Magdalena Osial from IPPT PAN hosted a delegation of researchers from the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (USTH) - Prof. Dinh Thi Mai Thanh (Rector of USTH), Prof. Nam Hong Nguyen, and Dr. Phuong Thu Nguyen. The visit took place under the bilateral cooperation program between the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN) and the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST), which supports personnel exchanges between our institutions. Cooperation with our Vietnamese partners is developing dynamically. The meeting at IPPT PAN was an excellent opportunity to summarize achievements to date and set new research goals. The USTH representatives also met with the Institute's Directorate - Prof. Janusz Szczepański and Prof. Tomasz Mościcki - to discuss strategic directions for international research relations, the potential for joint grant applications, and prospects for further academic exchange. During their stay at IPPT PAN, the guests delivered a lecture presenting research results obtained under a bilateral grant, held a series of meetings with research teams, doctoral students, and interns at the Institute, and familiarized themselves with IPPT PAN's laboratory infrastructure. This equipment is used daily for the synthesis of nanocomposites, advanced physicochemical analyses, and computational research. International exchange under the PAN-VAST program is not only a means of knowledge transfer, but also an opportunity to combine research perspectives to address key technological and environmental challenges. The visit to IPPT PAN brought many inspiring discussions and valuable experiences. We look forward to the next stages of our cooperation! This visit was carried out with financial support from the Polish Academy of Sciences @PAN_akademia

🔬 What lies beneath the surface of a material? As part of the #Erasmus programme, Karolina Stępniak, a PhD student at the Department of Mechanics of Materials @ipptpan, visited Luleå University of Technology to gain hands-on experience with the ToF-SIMS technique. During her stay, Karolina worked with samples of high-entropy alloys prepared at the Experimental Micromechanics Laboratory. She carried out measurements, learned the successive stages of ToF-SIMS analysis, and interpreted the results obtained using this advanced surface characterization method. The visit also provided an opportunity to explore the research facilities of our long-standing partners and exchange knowledge with scientists working on related topics. Such international collaborations help broaden research perspectives and give young researchers access to methods and expertise that can support their future work. The experience has equipped Karolina with new skills and valuable insights that will contribute to ongoing research on high-entropy alloys at IPPT PAN. #IPPT #IPPTPAN #Erasmus #EU #EUFunds #MaterialsScience #ToFSIMS #HighEntropyAlloys #Research #PhDLife

❓ What problem does it solve? Traditional testing methods often introduce unwanted bending or twisting moments due to axial misalignment, skewing the test results. The new IPPT PAN solution uses a specialized joint and conical sleeve mechanism to ensure perfect alignment and realistic load testing! 📊
