Professionals who fail to adapt to artificial intelligence (AI) risk losing their jobs to workers who can use the technology more effectively, according to Vumile Msweli, founder of the Hesed Africa Foundation and Africa Career Summit. Speaking at the 2026 Institute of People Management (IPM) Namibia Annual Conference in Windhoek, Msweli said the growing adoption of AI would change workplace responsibilities and increase demand for employees capable of combining technology with critical thinking, creativity and human judgement. “I don’t think AI is going to take our jobs and annihilate every single job in history. I think people who can’t leverage AI will lose their jobs,” she said. Msweli said employees and organisations needed to reconsider how they performed their duties, particularly as AI increasingly takes over repetitive and administrative tasks. thebrief.com.na/2026/10/work… #namibia #technology #jobcreation #ai #creativity @ipm_namibia @hesedafrica

Namibia advances AI and digitisation policies to modernise public service The Namibian government has begun developing artificial intelligence (AI) and digitisation policies aimed at modernising public service delivery, reducing administrative inefficiencies and expanding access to government services. Prime Minister Elijah Ngurare said the policy development process forms part of efforts to integrate emerging technologies into government operations while strengthening local technological capacity and protecting national interests. Speaking at the 16th Institute of People Management (IPM) Namibia Annual Conference, Ngurare said the public service had already initiated work on digitisation and AI policies to guide the adoption of digital technologies across government institutions. He said the government needed to move away from traditional paper-based administrative systems towards digital platforms that would allow citizens to access services without having to travel long distances to government offices. technews.com.na/2026/10/15/n… #namibia #ai #digitalisation #technology #publicservice @NamibiaOPM @ngurare @ipm_namibia @TechCrunch @TechCentral
