🎉 The countdown to our 10-year anniversary celebration continues!
Year 6 was all about expanding access to clean energy and building new opportunities for communities in Montgomery County.
In 2021, MCGB:
- Launched the County’s first community solar project.
- Became the program administrator for the County’s C-PACE program.
- Received approval to offer the CEA homeowner program statewide under EmPOWER.
- Partnered with @IPLdmv to educate faith-based organizations on Commercial Solar Power Purchase Agreements.
Stay tuned next week as we continue our journey through the years leading up to our 10-year anniversary celebration! 💚

Please note: mimicking our extraordinary multi-faith movement speaking out against the harms of data centers in MD is actually harder than it sounds: 1st, you need to belong to a congregation you can name. Then, you need multi-faith allies who are proud to be your partners.
And, we can’t emphasize this enough: you need to be known beyond New Jersey. Read the article from @RNS.

💸 Why are utilities still pushing expensive gas plants when wind and solar are cheaper & faster to build? Because they earn profits building big infrastructure projects-not by choosing the lowest-cost option for customers. That's utility greed. youtube.com/watch?v=Au_OeDcr…

Fascinating @dwallacewells piece thinking through the climatic and political implications of the coming El Niño.
Did you know that American climate concern is higher now than it was during the Biden administration?

Our food is growing less nutritious. Many of humanity’s most important crops — including wheat, potatoes, beans — contain fewer vitamins and minerals than they did a generation ago.
The culprit behind this damaging phenomenon? Carbon dioxide pollution. wapo.st/4eT0YuU
