Why is BTFP spiking. The BTFP lending program is a secured funding program set at 1 year OIS + 10 and is repayable at any time. Current 1 year OIS has cratered with cuts priced in for 2024. Given the rate is now below overnight secured borrowing all banks borrowing from various places paying 5.25ish can now fund at BTFP for 4.9 ish. Because it's cancellable at any time they can benefit if other borrowing falls below the rate the now have. DOOMERs it's not a bank failing!!!!!
