1/Please share this thread on behalf of my physician colleague, Eunice Stallman, who is facing the nightmare of her 9mo daughter, Zoey, being diagnosed with brain cancer several weeks ago. @BlueCrossIdaho has added to their anguish by obstructing access to vital treatment.

Well it's finally here. New Global Definition of ARDS presented by Michael Matthay on behalf of a large diverse international panel.
More of a modification than a new definition. Berlin lives on but includes new patients under the ARDS umbrella

A fantastic event to honor Dr. Hasan Bazari, Program Director Emeritus @MGHMedicine. A legendary clinician, educator and leader. His kindness and emphasis on humanity in medicine deeply influenced 1000s of trainees. Honored to say that he was my PD #MGH4life #bazariconferenceroom

As mask mandates are lifted before a vaccine is available for kids under five, we wanted to understand the anxiety those children’s parents are feeling. So we talked to Monica Gandhi and Leana Wen.

Nearly 16% of emergency department patients who met sepsis criteria were discharged from the ED. Mortality in discharged sepsis patients was lower (0.9% vs 8% for admitted patients); disposition patterns varied significantly among physicians. ja.ma/3Bao6PU

I’ve noticed a change in how my staff respond when they hear about new unvaxed COVID cases.
1st it was disbelief
Then it was outright anger
Next was sadness
Now it’s just acceptance
I thought this was all explained by burnout. But now I realize it’s also the grieving process.

Just intubated another #COVID19 pt in the ICU.
FaceTime with family right before intubation.
On max BIPAP, he says...
“I’m proud of you son.”
😢
Hoping he can tell him in person soon.

This is an example of a problem called “mechanical racism” that is rarely talked about.
This happens a lot and when it does, some people are brave enough to point out the racism
I think those people are wrong .
A thread.

thanks but I don’t need accolades–I need you to wear your mask, socially distance, and get your shots when you can
don’t bang on pots, get your shots!
