This take is interesting because if anything I think the opposite is true. Reiner's split personality was probably intended from the start, but it evolved as the story and characters gradually became more nuanced. Interestingly Isayama doesn't seem to have known the full scope +

Giving Reiner a split personality cause you wrote him so contradictory it's the only way his character could make sense is a 10/10 asspull

It might be interesting to do a video at some point about what exactly Isayama seems to have planned from the start. There are some other things, like the 9 titans, that clearly came later (see Ymir's jaw/pure titans having the same design). But I do think that the basic +

ideas for the overall story were there from day 1. Stuff like "the titans are sent to attack by the outside world's advanced society, which Eren's dad is from" and (seen below) that the main character eventually "becomes the aggressor".

Can anyone explain wtf is meant to be happening in this scene? The anime didn't adapt this, and I've seen people interpret it as Eren throwing Mikasa towards the wall. But there are no panels where we see that. Hange says to wait, and suddenly Mikasa just appears next to Annie?

ik this is kind of already an old topic but does anyone actually know WHERE this quote is from originally and when the plaque it's taken from was put up? I know it existed before last week, but I can't remember from where
invaderzz (@invaderzzzz) profile pictureinvaderzz@invaderzzzzApr 29
Not sure why this is blowing up all of a sudden, but if you actually read the quote, Isayama's "regret" is that he was too attached to Eren's character to portray him as a completely unsympathetic villain. In other words, he regrets that the ending he wrote went too EASY on Eren.
