I once sold a truck to a guy who called and agreed to pay full price as long as I brought it to the airport within the hour. It was incredibly sus, but my truck had been for sale for months, and I had grown desperate. So I went. It only got weirder. The moment I arrive he hops in the drivers seat for a test drive, and a run to the bank to get the money to buy it. He’s a freakishly large porcine fellow, adorned head to toe in dirty work clothes. He looked like Hagrid if he were an alcoholic with a the world’s most unionized construction job. We get to chatting on the drive. Work, life, conspiratorial ramblings, Donald Trump, Pakis. The usual, if you know this type of guy. I come to learn he needed to buy my truck to get home. He had bought a one way plane ticket to come buy a different one, but had been ghosted by the seller when he landed. He was stranded at an airport on the other side of the country with no other plan. So I thought, “well maybe I know the guy who ghosted him. Let me see if I can help.” I asked to see his phone to read his FB Marketplace message with the seller. He had been talking to some guy with Broken English and a vaguely middle eastern sounding name for several days now. The guy was selling an incredibly desirable truck for 30% below market. A virtually impossible deal. The vehicular equivalent of a horny singles in your area add on a porn site. He turned to me and said “y’know, his listing says the truck is about an hour from here, maybe I should go look for him.” I said “bro I’m looking at his profile, he has this same truck listed in every city in North America. The plate in the photos isn’t even from our state. This truck is spammed hundreds of times across marketplace.” To which he replied, “yeah I thought that was weird. I think it’s a glitch.” “No it’s not a glitch… you didn’t send him money did you?” I asked, fearing the answer. “Yeah I sent him a money, otherwise he was gonna sell it to another guy.” I winced. “how much?” “Five thousand bucks.” “……okay.” “Well let’s look him up, we have his name.” He replies confidently. “Look him up where?” I ask. “Facebook” “I’m looking at his Facebook. It’s not real.” Just then we arrive at the bank, he parks my 2500HD in the handicap spot at a 45 degree angle. I say maybe we should pick a different spot, he tells me he isn’t picky. We set up the wire transfer, he makes a disparaging remark about brown people to the teller. She frowns, she is brown. The money luckily still gets sent. And he takes off in the truck. Hours later he calls me from the middle of nowhere. He had decided to fuck with the aftermarket tuner while driving and bricked it. He was stranded. My coworker's mother passed away last November. She left her modest $190,000 house to him clear and free, no mortgage, completely paid off after thirty years of factory work. He moved into the home in January to finally settle the estate. Two weeks ago, a letter arrived from the state Medicaid estate recovery office. Because his mother spent four months in a rehabilitation facility before she passed, the state quietly slapped a retroactive $114,000 lien against the property title. He called the state health department, frantic, asking how a hospital stay could bankrupt an inherited home that had no mortgage balance. The caseworker sighed and told him: "Federal law requires state programs to claw back healthcare costs from deceased estates. The house cannot be sold or transferred until the balance is cleared in full." He offered to pay a monthly settlement. They said no. The full $114,000 is due in 60 days, or they foreclose on the property at a public auction. A lifetime of working-class savings, wiped out overnight by a retroactive healthcare lien. You don't own generational wealth. You're just holding a property title until the state finds a legal mechanism to repossess it the moment you die.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Because the house is worth $190,000 and the average house sale price is over$440,000, the house likely qualifies for the "modest value" exemption. (Check county values) YOU MUST APPLY FOR THIS WITHIN 60 DAYS OF GETTING THE NOTICE!!! kff.org/medicaid/what-…

Annabel Richter was a 19 year old FIT student. She was fed fentanyl by a man named Moises Friere who told her it was cocaine. Friere knew what he was doing — he gave the drugs to two female students and didn’t take any himself. While Annabel was overdosing, Friere stripped off her clothes, took photos of her naked body, and then raped her instead of calling for help. Because of what he did, she is dead. There are no “I am Jane Doe” rallies for Annabel Richter. There is no daily coverage of her death on CNN. There are no New York Times investigations creating timelines of her last day. Unless you read local crime news in New York City, you will not have heard about this case. Why is Cornell’s Jane Doe of so much more interest to mainstream news than FIT’s Annabel Richter? Perhaps because news loves to create narratives about predatory white male college students and refuses to make national-news villains of men like Friere, who commit most of the actual crime in places like New York City. The NYT and CNN aren’t lying when they do 50 stories about Jane Doe and zero about Annabel Richter. They’re just exercising editorial judgment about which parts of the news you need to hear.

Years ago, I used to do business with an elderly French couple. They were very sweet, cordial people, and they were inseparable. As time went by, they really took a liking to me. One day they invited me out to go for dinner as a sign of appreciation for the work I had done for them — and of course I accepted. Dinner was going well, they had a great sense of humor, and they loved to laugh. They had a very thick French accent, so naturally, I brought up France. At this point they were a couple of drinks in, and I vividly remember the shift in the mood as soon as I asked them what the last time they were in France was. It’s as if I saw every ounce of happiness leave their bodies, and at that moment the husband turns to me says, “Do you know what it feels like, to not recognize your own home?” At that point Williamsburg was gentrifying and Long Island City still had some warehouses- with a few exceptions, it was still the New York City I grew up with. My response was “No, I don’t.” The wife interjects in that moment and says, “we’re never going back” and then quickly changed the subject. Eventually our paths diverged and I ran into a common acquaintance who gave me the news that they had both passed away a few years earlier, and within a short period of one another. He was a little older than me, so he knew them a little more intimately. As we reminisced, he told me that they actually missed France terribly, but they hated what France had become, and drowned their misery in alcohol. He said they practically drank themselves to death. With every day that goes by, I understand them more and more.

Biggest "the kids are fucked" moment I've had recently was at urgent care. Walked in for a strep test, asked upfront what it would cost without insurance. Receptionist said she couldn't tell me. "It depends on what the doctor finds." Got the test, got a quick look at my throat, was out in 15 minutes. The bill came three weeks later: $385. For a swab and a five-minute conversation. Called to ask for an itemized breakdown. Turns out "facility fee" alone was $220, just for walking through the door, regardless of what they actually did inside. I assumed a price was something you could ask for before you agreed to pay it. Apparently in healthcare, you find out what something costs only after you've already agreed to it.

This kind of sloppiness is inexcusable. Why would you publicly announce something as dramatic as a live-streamed execution if you weren’t absolutely sure you wanted to do it and hadn’t already thought through all of the very predicable and inevitable blowback you would get? This makes it seem like they just kind of off the cuff floated the idea of killing someone on a live stream and then changed their mind when people were upset about it. Totally ridiculous, no matter how you feel about the public execution idea. No excuse to handle it this way. You need to go into something like this very thoughtfully, with seriousness of purpose and a sense of the gravity of the situation. Instead we get a casual announcement of a public execution and then a casual retraction on social media a few days later. Absurd.

I typically watch a decent amount of sports commentary and coverage during the football season. It is really striking the degree to which nearly all of these shows have become nothing but infomercials for sports betting. No one in the sports media space is even pretending to grapple with the ethics of shilling for sports betting companies every day all day. I guess it’s not surprising but you might think that there would be at least a little bit of internal debate about whether they should be relentlessly hawking a product that is guaranteed to lose collectively millions of dollars for their audience, and which obviously jeopardizes their own ability to be remotely objective, and which is having such a clearly deleterious effect on the sports they’re paid to cover. But apparently not. They all just decided to become full time salesmen for Fan Duel with no further deliberation on the matter. Okay then.

Ilhan Omar’s naturalized citizenship is probably invalid for three reasons. 1) Her father allegedly lied on his asylum application. Nur Omar Mohamed wasn’t fleeing the violent genocidal Siad Barre regime in Somalia. He was part of it. He was a Colonel in the regime’s Army, likely specializing in propaganda. If he failed to disclose this on his asylum paperwork, that’s fraud. He, and his daughter Ilhan, would have entered the United States fraudulently. 2) Ilhan Omar claims she derived naturalized citizenship from her father. That’s a technical term. In order to qualify for “derived” naturalization, you must be a minor. 17 years old or younger. Ilhan Omar was naturalized in 2000, at age 17. Or was she? Public records during her time in the Minnesota state legislature show her birthdate as Oct 4, 1981, which would make her 18 at the time of naturalization, which would mean she was ineligible for it. When someone pointed this out after she was elected to Congress, Ilhan Omar had her congressional staff revise her birth date in public records, shifting it from 1981 to 1982. If she knowingly lied about her birth year, her naturalization is fraudulent. 3) To “derive” naturalization from her father, it is also required that Ilhan Omar’s father was in fact a naturalized citizen. But DHS has no record of Ilhan Omar’s father’s naturalization paperwork. Once someone dies, their naturalization paperwork becomes public record and anyone can FOIA request it. When FOIA’d, USCIS (the sub agency at DHS responsible for all naturalization paperwork), said they had no paperwork for Ilhan Omar’s father. If he was not naturalized, Ilhan Omar could not legally derive naturalized citizenship from him. Ignore the MSM hacks who are claiming “Trump’s raid on Ilhan Omar violates all norms!” No. What violates norms is breaking the law and fraudulently entering our country. If we don’t enforce laws when they are broken, we have no country. We are facing the very real possibility that a Somali foreign national who hates America defrauded her way into the U.S. Congress. Denaturalize her. Deport her.

I’m Polish. If France is your future, I come from the end of that road. France shows you the slow version. We lived the full one – the version where the state doesn’t just take care of everything. It owns everything. In Poland it arrived with Soviet bayonets. In America it would arrive by vote – slower, softer, with better slogans. But the destination is the same, and so is the mechanism. It starts with prices. When the state decides what things should cost, prices stop telling the truth. A price is a message: this is scarce, this is wanted, make more of this. Abolish the message, and the whole economy goes deaf. So the shelves emptied – first of meat, then of almost everything. Every Pole knew the joke. A man walks into a shop: "No meat?" The clerk: "No, sir. Here is no fish. No meat is across the street." We queued for everything. People wrote their place in line on their palms and kept lists through the night. You waited years for a small car, and often more than a decade for an apartment. Not because Poles were lazy. Because nobody in the system had any reason to produce what we needed. At work, we had another joke: we pretended to work, and they pretended to pay us. And the promise of equality? It produced the most unequal system of all. The party elite had their own shops – Poles called them the shops behind the yellow curtains. Those with dollars shopped in special stores. Everyone else got the queue. Then the system needed informers, because nobody believed in it anymore. Our neighbors were recruited to report on us. You never knew who was listening – the colleague, the friend, sometimes family. So we learned to live a double life: one language in public, another at home. Those who spoke up got the wolf ticket: no job, no promotion, sometimes no university place for their children. Nobody needed to send them to prison. They just couldn’t live. The newspapers reported record harvests while the shelves stood empty. Everyone knew. Nobody said it. That is what a society looks like when the lie becomes the system. In 1950 we were about as rich as Spain. By 1989, Spain was twice as rich. That is what forty years of "fairness" cost us. Today in America, the method is softer. Your neighbor won’t inform on you to the secret police. Someone will report your post, and you’ll be cancelled – no job, no account, no platform. Different tools, same machine. We got out. Ten million of us joined Solidarity, and in 1989 a system that looked eternal collapsed. Since then, Poland has become one of the great success stories of Europe – because people were finally free to build. But we still carry it. More than thirty years later, you can see it in the careful answers, the closed faces - the system leaves faster than the fear does. It takes generations to get out of it fully once you fall into that trap. Nobody votes for the queue. Nobody votes for the informer. They come with the promise. Trust me, you don’t want to go down that road.
I’m French. I want to talk to Americans who are about to vote Democrat. Not to insult you. To warn you. I come from your future. In France we did everything your progressive politicians promise. Free healthcare, free college, generous welfare, strong unions, heavy regulation, high taxes on the rich, a state that takes care of everything. Public spending close to 57% of GDP, one of the highest on the planet. On paper, it’s the dream. Here’s what it looks like from the inside. France hasn’t passed a balanced budget since 1974. Our debt is above 3,300 billion euros. Interest on that debt is becoming one of the biggest items in the national budget. Our hospitals are collapsing despite record funding. Our schools rank lower every year. Young people with degrees can’t afford an apartment in the city they were born in. Our best engineers leave for London, Zurich and San Francisco. And the rich you wanted to tax? They left too, and took the jobs with them. The promise was protection. The result is stagnation. The worst part is that nobody in France voted for decline. Every single step sounded generous, compassionate, reasonable. One more program. One more regulation. One more tax to fund it. Each step alone makes sense. Fifty years of them, and you wake up in a country that can no longer build a nuclear plant on time or keep its streets safe. I love America because it’s the one place on earth where people still believe they can build something from nothing. I came to Silicon Valley as a self-taught kid and it changed my life. That spirit is the most precious thing your country has. Before you vote, ask yourself one question: is the program you’re voting for making America more like America, or more like France? Trust me. You don’t want to be France.

It’s not about the zoo tickets, it’s that at some point I looked up from my paycheck and realized OH, cool, I’m apparently funding the welfare state, Big Pharma, foreign countries, “Learing Centers,” government programs I’ve never heard of, Planned Fucking Parenthood, and seventeen layers of bureaucracy whose primary function appears to be emailing each other PDFs; meanwhile, I pay taxes when I earn money, taxes when I spend money, taxes to employ people, taxes on property I ALREADY OWN, taxes go up every year anyway, the school district discovers another $75,000,000 it absolutely cannot survive without, and if I so much as raise my hand and ask whether maybe, possibly, perhaps somebody could spend slightly less money, I am informed that I hate teachers, children, puppies and probably literacy, and NOW after financing civilization itself I’m also supposed to smile and subsidize someone’s trip to see the giraffes. Know what I mean?

We have a lot of friends among the American elites. Serious men in their 40s-50s. There is a general elite consensus around the idea of reindustrialization and 100 million mass deportations, and a sense that America got complacent, we took our eyes off the ball, we allowed our nation to get hollowed out and overrun by invaders... and that we can never be complacent again. This is very deeply-held conviction behind the scenes. Our political legitimacy and leadership will come from this military-industrialist caste of soldiers, lawyers, and businessmen. In 2030-2034, the men who save America are mostly going to be these Gen X types like Bo French. Gen X is our hope. Gen X is positioned to seize power after the Boomers step down (die in office). Angry young men like me need to support these men. We need to form into disciplined, ferocious infantry columns and line up behind them. We are their foot soldiers and the grim manpower they need to fix the country. Serious men in their 40s-50s will be the respectable public face of reindustrialization, mass deportations.

Oct 12, 1870: Robert E. Lee died in Lexington, Virginia, five and a half years after he surrendered at Appomattox. When the war ended, Lee was the most famous man in the South and he had nothing. His family home at Arlington had been seized by the federal government and turned into a cemetery for Union dead. He was 58, his health was failing, and he was under indictment for treason, though he was never tried. Offers came in. Businesses wanted to put his name on their letterhead for big salaries. He turned them down. Instead he took a job as president of Washington College, a tiny school in the Shenandoah Valley that had been looted by Union troops during the war. It had a few dozen students and a handful of professors. The salary was $1,500 a year. He threw himself into it. He knew most of the students by name. He added courses in engineering, business, and journalism, which were unusual for the time. He replaced a long list of rules with an honor system and told students the school had only one rule: every student must be a gentleman. He spent those years telling Southerners to accept the result of the war. He told former soldiers to go home and rebuild. According to an often-told story, when a widow complained bitterly to him about the Union, he told her not to raise her sons to hate the United States and to make them Americans. In 1869 he paid a short visit to President Ulysses S. Grant at the White House. His heart was giving out. In the spring of 1870 he took a long trip south, partly for his health. Crowds met him at every stop. On Cumberland Island in Georgia he visited the grave of his father, Revolutionary War hero Light-Horse Harry Lee. On Sept 28, a cold, rainy day, he went to a long meeting at his church about raising money for the minister's salary. When they came up short, Lee pledged the difference himself. He walked home in the rain and sat down to dinner with his family. When he tried to say grace, no words came out. He had suffered a stroke. They made a bed for him in the dining room. For two weeks he lay there, mostly silent, while one of the worst floods in Virginia history swept through the region outside. He died around 9:30 in the morning on Oct 12. He was 63. Accounts written later said his last words were "Strike the tent," along with an order for A.P. Hill to come up, as if he were back on the battlefield. Doctors who have studied the case think the stroke had taken his ability to speak, and many historians doubt those words were ever said. The flood had washed away the town undertaker's stock of coffins. Some were found downriver, and the only usable one was too short. Lee was buried in his suit without shoes. He was laid to rest in a crypt beneath the chapel on the college grounds. Within days the school's trustees voted to rename it Washington and Lee. His horse Traveller, who walked behind the funeral procession, is buried just outside. After the war Lee had signed an oath of allegiance and applied for a pardon. The oath was lost and never acted on. It was found in the National Archives a century later, and in 1975 Congress restored his citizenship. Americans still argue over how to remember him and the cause he fought for, and they probably always will. But in the last five years of his life, he chose to spend what he had left teaching young men, rebuilding a broken school, and telling a defeated people to put down their anger and become Americans again. 156 years ago today. Rest easy General.

Jesus wept, 1986 called and wants it's advice back. Yoga class? Are you fucking serious? The average 20 year old woman in the dating market today has the impulse control of a 9 month old golden retriever, the fried dopamine receptors of a 5 year heroin addict, and the empathy of a rattle snake. It fucking sucks, but bitching about it doesn't change anything. That's the game. So you either play the game or you die alone. And when young men came to their elders asking for advice on how to play this game. They got advice like this shit from Chris Hatch and got their hearts absolutely ripped out of their chests. A dude I went to college with was following this kind of dumb shit advice in pursuit of a classmate. He got as far as kissing this girl and was madly in love. Two weeks later she was dating a (married) trial attorney who was pulling in $300k/year, before she could even legally drink. Emotional devestation. It's fucking bleak out there. The problem the feminists have is that feminism is ultimately a luxury belief. The belief that women are angelic creatures deserving of a perfect man just isn't true. It's something you can only believe if you've been out of the dating game for a decade or are a woman. None of the delusions of feminism survives contact with 21st century dating. For all the MANY problems of dudes like Andrew Tate, red pill dating content at least attempts to give men advice pertaining to the average woman. It doesn't pretend that the Reddit-tier advice of "just respect women even harder" is going to work. Respecting women even harder is how you end up seeing pictures on Snapchat of the girl you like half naked on the boat of a frat guy who's parents own a lake house. If you're actually giving advice to young men, here's what it actually is: 0. If you can manage it, date early and stay together. I'm talking like 15, and just avoid the toxic cesspit that is dating apps and college dating. Then get married 6 months after college graduation. 1. Be in shape. Women are entirely instinctually driven. They like pretty dudes and they like strong dudes. You can be both with effort and discipline. 2. Be professionally successful. Having money can cover for a lot of issues. Having a job your girl can brag about to her friends matters. 3. Treat her like a child. You have to ignore children from time to time so they don't become spoiled, but you also can't neglect them because they'll find something destructive to play with. On the plus side, children are easily entertained. 4. This is a numbers game. You need to be shooting all the time. If you're at a bar to watch a football game, sit next to a girl and shoot your shot. You're going to lose more than you win. A lot more. Don't chase your losses. Don't take it personally. Why would you care what a woman thinks? 5. If you find a unicorn, lock her down.
Attention Young Men: I am surrounded by 20 year old girls in my life that are smart, capable, hard working and cute. Nobody is dating them. Not sure what the deal is, but I don’t get it. Step 1: Stop playing video games Step 2: Head to great clips and get that lettuce cleaned up Step 3: Hit a shower (when dating hygiene is critical) Step 4: Go clean your car Step 5: Sign up for a yoga class Step 6: Go to the yoga class Step 7: Ask a cute for her phone number at yoga class (yes you can meet girls IRL and not just on the apps - 10/10 the Dirt Dog highly recommends) Step 8: Follow up within 2 days with a phone call and ask them out for this coming weekend Friday or Saturday night. Step 9: IMPORTANT - come up with a good game plane for date night. Get a dinner reservation, get an activity planned. Let them know in advance what you are doing so they can dress appropriately. I know you are gunna roll off the couch and head to date night, but they are not. They are going to stress about what to wear and call at least 6 different people on FaceTime to ask their opinion. Step 10: I highly recommend you bring flowers to the door step. I’m not covering that you go to the doorstep, because if you don’t do that you have no hope here. Women want men to date them. You don’t need to break the bank on flowers. Head to Trader Joe’s. Grab 2 different kinds of flowers. If you don’t know what matches find the closest looking lady to your mom at TJ’s and ask her. Wrap the 2 flowers into 1 bouquet with paper. Bonus Points you can cut open a TJ bag and use that as the paper. Step 11: Be a gentleman on the date. She isn’t there to hear your life story. Ask her about her. For every 1 question you answer, ask her 3. Open Doors, pay for the meal, be polite. Provided you follow most of this guideline you are highly likely to get yourself an opportunity for date number 2. Keep going until you find someone that you can’t imagine not being around all the time. That’s when you have found a good one for you. My life is complete with my wife as my companion. I wish you the same fortune in life. Happy Hunting.

Indians are begging Indian H-1Bs to stay in America so they do not steal jobs in India. Indian H-1Bs are incompetent but cheaper, so they steal American jobs. In India they have no cost advantage. Neither group wants this to happen because Indians cannot compete on merit alone.
