From the @FT: "Cracks are appearing in America’s debt-laden $10tn AI infrastructure boom as project delays, public backlash and shaky investor confidence bring a reckoning for the data centre build-out underpinning the US economy."
IMO, what makes all these issues even more interesting is that no matter how they evolve, there are significant economic, financial, social, and geopolitical implications

Giving is not about bestowing in your own way, but about understanding what the other person needs. There is a difference between a generous heart and a compassionate heart.

What is the vagus nerve, and why is it important?
The vagus nerve plays a key role in the mind-body connection, influencing digestion, heart rate, and the body's response to stress.
In this video, I discuss vagus nerve stimulation and its potential benefits for health and well-being. Understanding how the nervous system works is an important part of integrative medicine. #DrWeil #VagusNerve #MindBodyHealth #IntegrativeMedicine #NervousSystem #HealthyLiving

New research suggests exercise may help aging muscle clean up its own mess. 😮
After 30, unused muscle can drop 3–5% a decade. A Duke-NUS team (PNAS) found a reason that goes beyond “use it or lose it.”
As muscle ages, a protein called DEAF1 climbs and jams mTORC1 — the growth switch — in the “on” position. Cleanup of damaged proteins stalls. Debris builds up. Strength slips. That’s sarcopenia in molecular form.
Exercise flips it back. In older mice and fruit flies, both treadmill running and resistance work raised FOXO proteins, which dialed DEAF1 down and let mTORC1 normalize. The cell’s cleanup crew got back to work.
Caveat worth keeping: this pathway work is in animals. Human trials already link exercise to mTOR changes, but we don’t yet know exactly how this axis behaves in people.
What still holds up: • Lift 2+ days a week. All major muscles. Bands and bodyweight count. If strength is already slipping, add balance work. • Get your heart rate up your way. Steady cardio, intervals, and sprints all raised muscle mitochondria about 23–27%. 👉Age didn’t blunt it. Adults in their 80s improved with three short bike sessions a week. •
Strength training or resistance training isn’t an option? Blood-flow restriction with light loads beat the same light loads without a cuff. Treat it as a bridge, not a replacement.
Both strength and endurance seem to hit this pathway. Doing both is the bet.
Your muscles don’t just need to be built. They need to take out the trash.🗑️ 💪

Good morning.
From the FT:
"A sharp sell-off in US government bonds is starting to reverberate across corporate America, forcing companies to overhaul their borrowing plans and even raising the spectre of defaults among the most lowly rated businesses."
Remember the historical playbook:
The most vulnerable sectors get hit first and hardest. Then, if elevated borrowing costs persist, the pressure both migrates up the curve and spreads across the broader economy, domestically and internationally.
