In two weeks, the team used the VOID toolkit to build a the world's first VOID app as an experiment: a multichain CLOB DEX. Example Tx: - User A on Eth L1 creates a buy order - User B on Solana makes a sell order - The VOID app seamlessly matches the orders All for <1c in protocol fees and reaching finality in as little as 2s. This is just the beginning 🔮

sentiment is max bearish rn but i've never been more bullish on crypto's future we *finally* have what we need to build mass market consumer applications: - extremely scalable chains - user-friendly wallets & onramps - battle-tested developer tools & contracts plus, we are on the cusp of regulatory clarity which will: - enable entirely new use cases - make operating crypto projects 10x easier - open doors for institutional/enterprise adoption all while AI speeds up protocol engineering & lowers barriers to build apps ignore the fud. accelerate

One of the most fascinating teams, I came across during @ETHGlobal was @intentessential, I loved their innovation and I would be explaining in detail what they do 🧵 What is @intentessential? It’s the first declarative blockchain, and here’s why that’s a big deal for Web3! ⬇️

Agreed that "assertions" will change blockchain sec tech for the better. At @intentessential we call them constraints, and they form the basic unit of composition for smart contracts written in Pint.

Cracked devs know that invariant testing your smart contracts is super powerful. Under the declarative model, contracts written in Pint on @intentessential get this for free, as invariants are enforced onchain as `constraints`.

Congrats to all the hackers who built on @intentessential at @ETHGlobal San Francisco. We had loads of amazing submissions, but these projects really stood out! Join us at the next hackathon in Bangkok in November 🇹🇭
We had an incredible weekend at @ETHGlobal in San Francisco! It was inspiring to see so much talent and innovation come together. A huge thank you to all the hackers who participated, showcasing what’s truly possible with Essential and pushing the limits of blockchain innovation. Excited to keep pushing the boundaries and building together. 🏗️ A special shoutout to the Essential prize winners.🏆💰

I've started to play around with the declarative programming model introduced by @intentessential , and am finding that it maps nicely to another concept known as a Rank 1 Constraint System (R1CS) I learned about during the @rareskills zk bootcamp last winter.

This is the era during which many ideas in crypto that failed in previous years will work today because of embedded wallets, cheap blockspace, and better on/off ramps. Timing is everything.

Wrote about "An Analysis of Intent Based Markets", which explains the emergence of oligopolies in solver markets. Ultimately I think this work validates similar properties of solver markets today, therefore providing a framework for further analysis. crypto.mirror.xyz/yfBzBTJg5V…

Onchain solving is one of the few sectors of crypto which is still the wild wild west. For today's pod, we sat down with @knwang of @khalani_network to discuss the concept of intents and the intent-centric worldview in the context of chain abstraction. We discussed the democratization of solver networks, the imbalances present in onchain solving currently, why he is a massive intent bull, and whether or not the current imcumbents are ripe for disruption (also, how this will happen). A shift in how we think about using blockchains is happening behind the scenes. Watch or listen to today's pod to understand how the intent-centric worldview is shaping the future of onchain interactions: 03:10 Introduction 10:07 The Intent-Centric Worldview 21:48 Democratizing Solver Networks 27:58 The Challenge of Democratizing Solvers 34:51 What is Collaborative Solving? 40:16 The Big Opportunity: Specialization 43:02 The Need for Solver Collaboration

Trying to explain "intents" in the context of today’s mainstream smart contract chains is like trying to explain "smart contracts" to Bitcoin folks back in 2014. Vitalik had to describe it as "conditional spends”. It wasn’t wrong, but it was definitely an attempt to fit it into how people understood blockchain architecture at the time. It’s the same with "intents" today. Sure, you can explain it as a signed message that constrain state transitions. But the real potential and deeper understanding of "intents" is something that will need a fresh, new architecture. So, how we understand the concept really depends on the context of the explanation. - Are we trying to define it strictly within the current EVM/SVM/MoveVM architecture, or are we talking about an "intent-centric architecture" where everything revolves around intents? - Are we looking at it in a single-chain context, or a multi-chain context? - Are we defining it as a specific way to interact with blockchains, a new way to design dApps, a method of scaling blockchains, or as a way to simplify multi-chain complexity? I’ve got my own set of concepts projecting it into a new architecture, and so do others building intent-centric infrastructure. But a lot of it might just come off as jargon that feels ungrounded. I think we’ll only know the boundary of this concept once we see the first true intent-centric architecture ecosystem in action.
what are the boundaries with the term "intents"? Is there consensus on the below definition? "Intents are user-signed messages that describe a desired outcome on a blockchain. They are a way for users to express what they want the blockchain to provide to them, without specifying how to get it done." If the above is true, couldn't intents be more than a solver taking risk on source and fulfilling a txn on destination? A composed bridge transfer + swap could be an intent, no?
