Cobots built from Carbon Fibre!
This financial year, we introduced the Carbon Series from Integra Robotics: lightweight, highly configurable cobots built for manufacturing, research and integration into new products.
With more than 85% of the body built from high-grade carbon fibre, the Carbon Series weighs nearly 25% less than standard cobots.
Configure it around what your application needs:
• Payload: 1 to 8 kg
• Reach: 600 to 1,500 mm
• Degrees of freedom: 4 to 6
• Repeatability: ±0.2 to ±2 mm, depending on configuration
• Ingress protection: configurable up to IP58
• Control frequency: up to 500 Hz
Clean wiring, a streamlined design layout and a compact control box complement its lightweight construction, bringing together the practical details that matter when integrating a robotic arm into your setup.
Designed as an easy plug-and-play utility arm, Carbon is seeing strong demand from researchers developing new capabilities, small manufacturers introducing automation, and startups integrating robotic manipulation into their own products.
The response so far is encouraging, and the range of applications emerging makes this a promising addition to our portfolio.
Carbon joins our existing Motion Series, which offers payloads from 3 to 20 kg, ±0.03 mm repeatability and reach up to 2,000 mm.

What makes a mobile manipulator useful in a hazardous environment?
The position of the vehicle can determine how much of the manipulator’s workspace is actually usable. A few degrees of approach, an obstruction near the target or limited clearance can change whether the arm can reach and handle the task at all.
Our latest article looks at how usable workspace, vehicle positioning, vision and remote operation come together in mobile manipulation, and why these factors matter when designing a platform for real field conditions.
