I was usually the ONLY WOMAN in my convoy in Afghanistan. Not only was I a military police team leader, I was the one who searched the Afghan women.
Those women told me things their husbands never would. They also told me things they wouldn't tell their husbands. They let me hold their babies and talk to their kids. These women had NO voice in that country. No rights. They were men's property.

He called her on Halloween night to say he had been SHOT and needed help.
Police have charged three black teenagers, ages 15 and 16, and a 22-year-old black man, Detravion Parker, with MURDER.

Philippine Le Noir de Carlan was a 19-year-old French university student from a Catholic family who was studying economics and financial engineering at Paris Dauphine University.
On September 20, 2024, she left her university in Paris to visit her parents. She never made it home.
The following day, around 50 people joined the search for her. They discovered her lifeless body partially buried in the Bois de Boulogne park. An autopsy determined that she had died from asphyxiation.
The main suspect, Taha Oualidat, a 22-year-old Moroccan migrant, had previously been convicted of raping another young woman and sentenced to seven years in prison.
He had been released in June 2024 and ordered to leave France, but his deportation was never carried out. Just one day before Philippine's murder, authorities had placed him on a wanted-persons list after he failed to comply with reporting requirements.
He fled to Switzerland, where police arrested him four days after her death.
Around 2,800 people gathered at Versailles Cathedral to mourn Philippine, whose life was taken at just 19 years old.
