Earth is ready for a solar eclipse on Aug. 12th (stream it live at nasa.gov/live). Other planets have eclipses, too! This view came from our Juno spacecraft at Jupiter in 2019. If you looked up from within this shadow cast by the moon Io you'd see a total solar eclipse.

No one who has witnessed totality thinks this man is overselling it.
EUROPE GANG – If you're deciding whether to drive to totality for Wednesday's eclipse, I IMPLORE YOU – DO IT.
This difference between a 99.5% partial eclipse and totality is night and day – literally!
There is a 10,000-fold dropoff in light as you enter totality. Only during totality can you remove your glasses and stare directly at the fully-blocked sun. That's the only time when humans can EVER directly observe the corona, or the sun's atmosphere.
Totality is when you'll experience the 360º sunrise appearance, the sudden nightfall, the disoriented animals and the magic that accompanies totality. Shadow bands will be visible before and after totality.
This is a life-changing, spiritual and scientific experience. PLEASE do not miss this incredible opportunity!
My expectation is that Hughesnet will merge with ViaSat.
US satellite internet provider Hughesnet has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after running low on cash and losing subscribers to @Starlink.
In a quarterly report today, EchoStar also noted that its broadband subscribers had fallen to 622,000, a loss of 59,000 during Q2. “We continue to experience increased competition from satellite-based competitors and other technologies," it said.
