We just lost a video game legend 😔
Gaming has lost one of the level designers who helped define the ’90s FPS 🎮
The legendary game designer has passed away at 68, leaving behind a career that helped shape the look, pacing and personality of some of gaming’s most influential titles.
Gray entered the industry after experimenting with Doom maps in his 30s, eventually becoming one of the defining level designers behind Duke Nukem 3D. His environments weren’t simply corridors connecting one firefight to another. They were filled with secrets, jokes, hidden rooms and places players actually wanted to explore.
Some of his most notable works included:
- Duke Nukem 3D (1996)
- Quake Mission Pack No. 1: Scourge of Armagon (1997)
- SiN (1998)
- Half-Life: Opposing Force (1999)
- Heavy Metal: F.A.K.K. 2 (2000)
- American McGee’s Alice (2000)
- Counter-Strike: Condition Zero (2004)
and many more
Gray’s influence reached beyond the games carrying his name in the credits. His approach to environmental storytelling, exploration and level personality helped inspire developers who followed him into the industry.
Players may have completed his levels decades ago, but generations of game designers are still building on ideas he helped make memorable.
Rest in paradise, Levelord. 🤍

Beauty and the Beast and Anastasia Legend Angela Lansbury Passed Away Four Years Ago Today at 96 📺🕊️
Remembering a true legend ❤️
Angela Lansbury became one of television’s most beloved mystery icons as Jessica Fletcher in Murder, She Wrote, bringing intelligence, warmth, wit, and quiet determination to the amateur detective across the long-running series.
But Jessica Fletcher was only one chapter of an extraordinary career. Lansbury moved effortlessly between film, television, Broadway, and animation, becoming Mrs. Potts in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Miss Eglantine Price in Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and the chilling Eleanor Shaw Iselin in The Manchurian Candidate.
Some of her memorable roles include:
• Jessica Fletcher — Murder, She Wrote
• Mrs. Potts — Beauty and the Beast / The Enchanted Christmas
• Miss Eglantine Price — Bedknobs and Broomsticks
• Dowager Empress Marie — Anastasia
• Mommy Fortuna — The Last Unicorn
• Eleanor Shaw Iselin — The Manchurian Candidate
• Mrs. Lovett — Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
• Miss Jane Marple — The Mirror Crack’d
• Salome Otterbourne — Death on the Nile
• Nancy Oliver — Gaslight
• Sibyl Vane — The Picture of Dorian Gray
• Great Aunt Adelaide — Nanny McPhee
• Mayor McGerkle — The Grinch
• Balloon Lady — Mary Poppins Returns
Jessica Fletcher became the character most closely associated with Lansbury on television, but her remarkable versatility allowed her to remain equally at home in a Broadway musical, a Hollywood drama, or behind the voice of an animated character.
Four years after her passing at 96, Angela Lansbury remains an enduring screen and stage legend whose warmth, elegance, and unforgettable performances continue to reach generations of fans. 🎭🕊️

Jon Bon Jovi and Richie Sambora in the Slippery When Wet days. In January 1986 the two of them started writing the album in the Sambora family home, then went to Vancouver to cut it with producer Bruce Fairbairn. It came out that August and spent eight weeks at No. 1, the band's first chart-topping album, while "You Give Love a Bad Name" and "Livin' on a Prayer" both hit No. 1 on the Hot 100. From August 1986 through October 1987 they headlined more than 220 shows around the world. By the end of it, Slippery When Wet was the best-selling album of 1987.

Happy 80th Birthday to Charles Dance! 🎉🎬
Charles Dance has always had the kind of screen presence that makes authority feel effortless. He could dominate Westeros as Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones, menace Arnold Schwarzenegger as Benedict in Last Action Hero, bring regal restraint to Lord Mountbatten in The Crown, and step comfortably into fantasy and science fiction through Alien 3, Dracula Untold, and The Sandman.
That commanding quality extends behind the microphone as well, with Dance lending his unmistakable voice to Emperor Emhyr var Emreis in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Godfrey the Butler in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, and Legantir in Justin and the Knights of Valour.
Some of his most memorable roles include:
Tywin Lannister (Game of Thrones)
Emperor Emhyr var Emreis (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)
Dr. Jonathan Clemens (Alien 3)
Benedict (Last Action Hero)
Sardo Numspa (The Golden Child)
Master Vampire (Dracula Untold)
Alan Jonah (Godzilla: King of the Monsters)
Roderick Burgess (The Sandman)
Lord Louis Mountbatten (The Crown)
Godfrey the Butler (Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 — Dead of the Night)
Commander Alastair Denniston (The Imitation Game)
Thomas (Underworld: Awakening / Underworld: Blood Wars)
Lord Havelock Vetinari (Going Postal)
Legantir (Justin and the Knights of Valour)
Happy birthday, Charles Dance! Whether ruling House Lannister as Tywin, commanding Nilfgaard as Emperor Emhyr, or bringing his distinctive gravitas to historical drama, fantasy, and science fiction, he has made authority and menace unmistakably his own. 🎂🎭
