her faux smile began to fade, meeting the words with a brief period of silence.
โ โฆ i wouldnโt let anything bad happen to anyone here. but donโt go thinking weโre friends again. โ

saying such bold words after two years of silence โฆ namโra could only laugh, no genuine happiness behind it.
โ you must have realized that after our friendship ended. โ
that doesnโt mean choose the obvious wrong answer.
her eyes fall upon the ferris wheel in the distance, miโjinโs words bringing a faint memory back in seconds. namโra swallowed, a slight bitter edge in her voice.
โ iโm assuming you think iโm still that person. โ
stare remaining blank. slight frown.
the invisible class president to the zombie shield โฆ why is she not surprised.
โ fine. โ
head turning slightly, wary eyes glancing to miโjin.
โ .. what is it that you want? โ
โ i would have to leave if i were. โ
voice soft yet blank, staring out of the window at the zombies below.
again, no resistance as her gaze is pulled to meet the otherโs once again. was there any truth to her words, if she couldnโt even bring herself to deny miโjinโs presence?

ยป gazes meet again. no expectations. she just wanted one more look before having to deprive herself again.
โ ... and i have haโri looking out for me, too. ... who's looking out for you? โ
โ we are not friends anymore. โ
spoken as soon as miโjin speaks up again, letting her get barely a word out before she cuts in. weirdly though, in contrary to her words, there was no resistance to the hair pushed behind her ear.
almost as if it were so natural, she didnโt โโ
any bit of warmth in her eyes fade at the mocking mention of her father, her stare reformed into the lifeless state itโs been in since before the apocalypse.
no point in even responding. seeing the conversation as over, her eyes return to her desk.
โ your daddy didn't want me to. i believe ... โ feigning thought. โ right, he was afraid i'd turn his daughter into a dyke. โ
taking another, even longer drag. classic miโjin move, taking reprimand as a challenge to do exactly the opposite.
๐ฉ๐ถ๐ง๐งเผ ... โ i do what i want. โ
โ we havenโt spoken in two years, i would be surprised if you knew. โ
her soft voice matched the look of a beaten puppy, the two year difference in her features barely noticeable.
there isnโt much movement on her end, hands in lap.
โ you shouldnโt smoke indoors. โ
she doesnโt look up, wincing only slightly from the sound of the chair dragging against the floor to be put in front of her desk. itโs only when miโjin speaks that her eyes lift to meet the otherโs.
while her eyes, on the other hand, hadnโt left her desk even as miโjin holds it out. she takes it back without a word, the lighter hidden within her fist.
