I'm seeking a young person to mentor. The last time I tried this experiment on X, I met my current mentee, @schasemcgee. Chase will reach $1M+ in recurring revenue this year at the age of 22, just 18 months after I helped him start his business. Here's how it works: - A mentorship is, to me, an expression of love for humanity. It costs you nothing, and by the time we're finished, you will be financially independent. If we do this right, it will not only set you up, but also your future family. - About me: I'm a self-made entrepreneur, currently CEO of an SEO agency. In my 20s, I sold several businesses, and today I get to work in an area that is highly interesting to me. I live in the NY Metro area, and am married with a young child. Fatherhood is the greatest source of meaning to me. Most of my philanthropy centers around helping children improve their emotional health. - The benefit I get from mentorship is the feeling of helping a young person become greater than they ever thought they could be. I always wanted a mentor when I was young and didn't have one. Doing this for someone is healing -- and hope-giving -- for me. - You must be smart, hard-working, and have a can-do attitude. You should recognize the opportunity in front of you and do everything in your power to maximize it. You should have some appetite for risk. You should be a strong communicator, both written and verbal. - If we get to know each other and it feels like a good fit, I will guide you through finding a business idea, starting a website, conceiving of your product, delivering that product, and dealing with the emotional complexities of the first few months of a new business. We'll touch base as often as you need, with a weekly call and daily texts. - If you’re interested in being mentored, send me a DM here on X and tell me a bit more about yourself. I don’t care about your credentials as much as your attitude, values, and work ethic.

I am seeking 1 aspiring entrepreneur to mentor. There is no cost. By the time we're finished, you will be financially independent. I do this because it is satisfying for me to pass on what I know. Here are the details: I am a self-made entrepreneur, currently CEO of a digital marketing agency. In my 20s, I sold several businesses, and today I enjoy growing just one. I've always had an interest in language, and all my companies have related to writing in some way. I live in the NY Metro area, and am married with a young child. Fatherhood is the greatest source of meaning to me. My philanthropy centers around helping children improve their emotional health. Most people haven't experienced mentorship before, and it's pretty simple: We have an initial call to learn about each other and see if it's a fit. If it is, we have weekly calls + try to get together in person a few times per year. You can text, call, or e-mail me in between and I'll respond as I'm able to. The goal is to develop you into an entrepreneur who can live the life you want. When we meet, we talk about business subjects like: brand creation, sales, marketing, operations, customer relationships, cash management, and investing. But we also cover the softer side of business: how to manage expectations, tolerate risk, deal with rejection, be humble in success, and incorporate friends and family into your journey. I've learned that it's hard to find someone who genuinely wants to be mentored, and harder still to find a good mentor-mentee match. You should be smart, hard-working, and have the courage to take risks. You don't need any money - just a can-do attitude, a willingness to commit, and an open mind. If interested, DM here on Twitter and tell me a bit more about who you are, where you're at in life, and your goals.

I can't help but notice the randomness of Covid masking. A practice known to be ineffective, even by Fauci, before 2020, became the most popular mitigation standard. Why? It's an easy-to-spot symbol of compliance that worked for politicians trying to project control. (1/2)

I wonder whether the utility of this random trend has run its course. Will politicians now channel their need for control into something new - a wearable carbon meter, perhaps? I just hope this masking moment ends soon, as it hurts children more than anyone else. (2/2)

During Covid, politicians suspended our right to gather, making exceptions only for left-wing protestors. Although assembly is protected in most countries, nobody swooped in to protect us. Let’s discuss why gathering is a right, not a privilege. 🧵(1/7)

If it weren’t for unapproved, in-person dialogue among brave doctors, business owners, parents, & truckers, blue states might still be in lockdown for Covid. Free speech seeped through the cracks of government control & won us back the right to assemble. But it’s tenuous. (6/7)

The next time there’s a crisis, remember: politicians don’t have the right to tell us whether we can gather. They can try, even in good faith; they can arrest us; but they can’t take away an unalienable right. Our ancestors sacrificed greatly to remind us of this truth. (7/7)

Today, many people feel morally justified using hyperbolic language to make a point. Phrases like “patriarchy” & “white supremacy” contain more activism than accuracy, causing confusion & degrading the spirit of civil discussion. Why is this happening? (1/8)

The recent tactic of using inflammatory rhetoric to incite an identity group, then peer pressuring others to get onboard, has worked. It’s scared leaders into changing policies. But it hasn’t truly changed their minds the way an honest public debate could have. (7/8)

Perhaps such heavy-handedness is needed for progress; I hope not. When we lie to advance a cause, we cause confusion & all involved get hurt. Truth is part of health. For our own good, we must start working out what’s true together, starting w/ trusting each other’s words. (8/8)

Imagine if, in March 2020, the gov’t had announced “There’s a new virus circulating that will majorly impact the elderly & unwell. We’re declaring an emergency & will expand hospital capacity, fund research, & resource communities.” How would life be different today? 🧵(1/10)

But there is some good. We’ve all unknowingly participated in an experiment teaching us the value of practices like free speech & face-to-face communication. Many of us took those things for granted, and will now cherish them. (9/10)

A new generation of parents will teach their kids to advocate for ideas like individual freedom, critical thinking, & the scientific method. Political groups & social movements will arise to protect them. A tragedy may have been needed to remind us what “health” really means. /🧵
