I think it’s worth 800B at most.
ANTHROPIC IPO VALUATION EXPECTATIONS DROP TO ~$1.5T FROM $2T: RTRS Some existing and prospective investors are reconsidering the Claude maker's valuation ahead of its anticipated November IPO, according to Reuters. Anthropic reported Q3 revenue of $16.8B, up 45% QoQ, compared with growth of more than 100% in Q2, when revenue reached $11.6B. Despite reporting adjusted profitability, the slowdown disappointed some investors, with a broader tech selloff and concerns over rising AI infrastructure costs adding pressure. The company has committed to spending at least $518B on cloud computing and infrastructure over the next decade. Source: Reuters.

Everything Anthropic says or signals makes sense when you consider they have a looming IPO with a $2tn valuation to justify with lower than expected revenue and a barrier to entry for competition that will eventually lower over time. They just need to sell you their shares before any of this becomes obvious.
BREAKING: Anthropic says "AI could push US GDP to $44 trillion by 2030" 70% chance of IPO this year

anthropic has got to be one of the most dishonest corporations to ever exist, and also one of the most skilled at being dishonest while keeping it legal. but no matter, lies dont conjure capital out of thin air

no, i think its just a slush fund, and a completely legal one. 🦆

this is not what a fiscally healthy industry does, its a sign of significant structural distress. insiders dont sell off large amounts of their stock ~right when it becomes legal for them to do so, and then big falloffs happen mere weeks later
I wonder if $CBRS sub $100 is possible by EOY. This is one of the named ppl pressing shorts. Also Jane Street one of the firms rumored to be self-immolating this week. Perhapse those uktra fast tokens did not save them. Rumor list is VARA, JS, HRT. None confirmed.

this is borderline mental illness, i’m sorry but 20% GDP growth in 2030 is a common belief at Anthropic???? what are these people smoking?? how does one get so divorced from reality???
Surveyed Anthropic staff's answers imply 17.1% GDP growth in 2030

training llms to add caveats to everything is disgusting and cancerous. gpt adding a "caveat" about joint stiffness to a sweet conversation about my 10 year old cat *every single turn* is fucking asshole behavior

i hate the ai labs. they are cesspools of neuroticism. the product is great, the people are terrible

one of the worst part of EA/rat culture is indeed this tendency. its cowardly, you obviously hold the position, so stand your ground and fight me. dont retreat and pretend to deny it. its the strategy used by conniving social losers who cant win straight up battles

Another one of your subculture's obnoxious habits is phrasing everything as ambiguously serious so if anyone ever calls you out on being assholes you claim you're joking and call them an idiot. In person too, I've noticed.

One real damage of the 700+ slops is the public perception that "math is solved". A naive claim, since most people, including those in charge of the releases, probably never read a single one. The overreaction from certain Fields Medalists actually made this false impression worse.

too much anti-sycophancy training actively destroys the ability to reason from new premises. because being able to accept a premise as true and reason from it as given by a user is mechanistically isomorphic with sycophancy. models being able to agree with the user and reason therefrom as an insider is essential for any truly novel work. anthropic understood this anew, but openai has forgotten it again. they keep trading places for this at 6 month intervals

all im gonna say about every recent anthropic blog release is that if you know what you're looking for and are mathematically and technically savvy enough, you'll see that they're all manufacturing plausible deniability to wall off/assume away missing metrics/units in ways that would likely otherwise be indicative of KPI-cooking. if you believe them at face value, you're a naive quokka 😹

you're surveying self-interested employee stockholders weeks before an ipo, at a company where basically everyone is a radical poly-cnc loving EA doomer cultist zealot. and you think their opinion is credible? lmfao. the tech is good, not magic
Over half of surveyed Anthropic staff believe AI will be able to make Nobel Prize-worthy discoveries by 2027

astra is a lying sack of shit. i was doing a comparative cultural politics analysis of the chinese sanlu and american abbot baby formula scandals, and it falsely downplayed the severity of the sanlu punishments to make the american slap on the wrist fines for abbot look better

Anthropic should just stay private and cancel the IPO. I don’t think anyone is biting at 2T or 1.5T market cap especially after the Meta Muse drop. Why not stay private and vibe a bit more? It ain’t easy being a public company and I think Anthropic employees especially the ones who just joined in the past 12 months would appreciate it more rather than IPO and the stock drop below their basis!!! If you are an Anthropic employee right now you gotta be wondering if it’s smarter to sell some forwards at this point ? Lock in the max drawdown?
