Today I learned something important about web development: A website can look perfect and still have problems underneath. Routing, forms, SEO, responsiveness, accessibility, metadata, they all matter. I'm currently learning to build beyond the surface.

Building Income Architecture has reminded me that development isn't just about writing code. It's also about breaking things, understanding why they broke, fixing them, and testing again. Build → Break → Learn → Fix → Improve. That's part of the process.

Building a business is similar. You test ideas, discover gaps, learn what isn't working, fix the weak points, and keep improving. The goal isn't perfection on day one. It's building something that gets better with every iteration. Follow @incomearchie for more tips.

Your website can look great & still lose enquiries. Why? Poor positioning. If your offer sounds like every competitor, clients have no clear reason to hire u. Position your business around: Who you serve The problem you solve Why you’re different Clarity creates preference.

A simple test: Remove ur business name from your website headline. If a potential client could put your headline on a competitor’s website without anything feeling wrong, your positioning isn’t clear enough. Your difference should be visible in your message not just your logo.

Your customers probably aren't searching for your business name. They're searching for: “Plumber near me.” “Best roofing company.” “Electrician in [city].” If your business isn't showing for those searches, having a Google listing changes very little.

If your roofing business currently does exhibit any of this: →appears below your competitors. →has weak information. →or lacks reviews. You’re visible online, but your customers still can’t find you. Would a customer find you before they find your competitor?

Being on Google doesn't mean customers can find you. Simple formula: 10 missed customers × ₦50,000 average sale = ₦500,000 lost revenue. Poor Google visibility doesn't just cost you clicks. It can cost you clients. Are you easy to find when your customers are ready to buy?

A confused plumbing customer calls the next plumber. If your website doesn't make the next step obvious, you could lose the job. Call. WhatsApp. Get a quote. One clear CTA can turn hesitation into a booked job. Would your website win the customer or send them to a competitor?

A confused visitor rarely becomes a customer. For service businesses, your homepage should make 3 things obvious: → What you do → Who you help → What to do next If visitors have to figure these out, you’ve created friction. Can someone understand your offer in 5 seconds?

Social media is rented land. Useful? Absolutely. But building your entire business there means someone else controls the rules, distribution, and access. Build your audience there. But don't leave them there.

Your follower count isn't the real asset. The real asset is your ability to communicate with the people who trust your brand. That's why email lists, websites, communities, and customer databases still matters in 2026.

A customer can be ready to buy and still never become a customer. Not because they changed their mind. Because booking was too difficult. Too many steps. No clear CTA. No easy way to enquire. How many potential customers are you losing because your next step isn't clear?
17
Not every lead will buy immediately. Some just need a reminder. If you never follow up, you're leaving potential revenue behind. Don't assume a lead said no just because they didn't respond.

Just hit my first 50 followers. 🎉 I know it’s a small number, but going from 42 to 50 after being stuck there for a while feels good. Small wins still count. Back to building. 🚀

Earning more doesn't automatically make you wealthier. What you keep, invest, and compound is what changes the equation.
Imagine spending years learning how to make money... Then spending everything you make. Income is only one part of the equation. Earn → Keep → Invest → Compound. That's how income becomes wealth.

It has been a part of me not to venture into business without carefully analyzing every bit of it. There is constant need for me to know what I'm putting my resources into.

A lead that doesn't get followed up quickly isn't really a lead. It's a missed opportunity waiting to happen. How many enquiries are businesses losing simply because nobody followed up?

If a visitor has to figure out what you do, who you help, and what to do next... You already have a conversion problem. Good businesses make the next step obvious.
