We have published a statement about the Draft Disability Strategy on our website - imtac.org.uk/news/draft-disa…. The Strategy contains virtually no tangible commitments and will not improve our lives in any way. Deaf and Disabled people deserve much better from the Executive. 1/4

Welcome to the Committee team at @ImtacNI Jonny, replacing me as Convenor or People, Streets and Places Working Group. Delighted to join Dave as Co-Convenor of @Translink_NI Accessibility Working Group. Everyone knows I've a thing or two to say about buses... #Disabled – at Greencastle, Northern Ireland
Great to attend today’s @ImtacNI AGM & very privileged to be elected Convenor of the People Streets and Places working group with my good friends @castleDD and Dave jointly covering Convenor for Translink. Thanks to all who turned out to support our 20th anniversary @UlsterMuseum

Off the scale ignorance of both the railcard scheme and of people with ADHD. Politicians must be more careful when speaking about matters they clearly know nothing about.
‘When I say the Conservatives are the only party with common sense, this is what I mean…’ Tory leader Kemi Badenoch reacts to the government’s decision to grant people with ADHD a discount on train tickets.

Thanks to everyone who attended our AGM today in person at the Ulster Museum and online. Great to reflect on the hard fought progress in the last 20 years and future challenges. @deptinfra @Translink_NI

On route to Belfast for the @ImtacNI AGM at @UlsterMuseum. Quite excited, as I haven't been to Ulster Museum for 35 years. Still, important to be done, so I'll get a look around the Museum another day. #Disabled #DisabledLife – at Omagh, Northern Ireland

Gibson being such a good boy helping to deliver Guided Journeys for @Translink_NI as part of their Disability and Equality Training. Another amazing thing we get to be part of as a Member of @ImtacNI as we campaign for better transport and access for people with disabilities!😃🐶

We asked for a strategic approach to making travel and places accessible and inclusive during consultation for the Transport Strategy. Great to see the final Strategy contain that commitment and a consultation launched today on what that will look like. @LizKimminsSF @deptinfra
Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins is encouraging people to have their say on proposals to create a more accessible and inclusive transport system. The public consultation opening today seeks views on Moving Together: An Inclusive Mobility Framework. The development of the Framework fulfils a commitment contained within Transport Strategy 2035 to develop an inclusive transport strategy focused primarily on the needs of older, d/Deaf and disabled people. This is my worry for the Eastern Transport Plan 2035 announced today by @deptinfra. We cannot allow disabled people to be excluded from Belfast City Centre further, by these draft plans. @ImtacNI infrastructure-ni.gov.uk/new… – at Golan, Northern Ireland
Went to Oxford Street to try out the pedestrian zone. Oh dear. Accessibility? Nah yet again.

This is fantastic. We NEED this level of awareness in NI as hate crimes against disabled people go largely unreported or poorly dealt with. @ImtacNI @Translink_NI @deptinfra @PSNIBelfast
What would you do if you witnessed a hate crime happening on public transport? @TfL are offering Londoners free online active bystander awareness sessions, so you know how to safely intervene. Find out more 👇 buff.ly/oGOzxhU

Thanks to @CllrMichaelLong of @allianceparty for proactively engaging with disabled voices to help make Belfast more accessible during events and future changes to our city. Hopefully the start of meaningful, two-way engagement that benefits everyone! 👏
Constructive discussion today with @allianceparty Belfast City Councillors about lessons from the Fleadh and potential future pedestrianisation of the City Centre.

This is such an important thread on Motability. Quite frankly, the absolute assault on disabled people is totally sickening, disheartening and devoid of any level of car that a civilised society should have.Sure as long as we’re not looking at the politicians and their rich mates
The Conservatives say their plan for more VAT on Scheme leases would raise £1 billion. Our analysis shows the figures don't add up. The proposals would make the Scheme unaffordable for disabled people, while raising far less, if anything. As reported by @johnpringdns ⬇️

Today’s Goldliner 273 journey was a disgrace! Trapped on bus for 30 mins due to faulty lift. Return journey had blocked wheelchair space and my unsecured wheelchair sliding around bends. I've asked for years. Now I DEMAND low-floor buses. No more excuses! #Disabled #Disability – at Golan, Northern Ireland

It is very frustrating to say the least that Dermot had to wait 30 minutes to get off the coach at Grand Central because of a faulty lift. These vehicles are not fit for purpose. No more in future please @deptinfra @Translink_NI @LizKimminsSF
Popping on a @GoldlineNI 273 from Omagh to meeting @Translink_NI for @ImtacNI at Belfast Grand Central Station. #Disabled #DisabledLife #DisabledTravel #Disability

I welcome £1m for Community Transport, but 13 new minibuses replace just 13 of 27 priority vehicles. As a disabled person in rural Tyrone, I know accessible transport is essential to independence. We need long-term funding, not just new vehicles. #AccessibleTransport #Disabled – at Omagh, Northern Ireland

Good to engage with @deptinfra, @Translink_NI and @CoDerryAirport in the last couple of weeks with @ImtacNI. Hopefully contributing something useful to conversations and actions that will improve accessibility throughout our transport and infrastructure networks. 😃 ♿️ 🦻
