People are so guarded now, so defensive, so withdrawn, everyone is protecting themselves from the next heartbreak, and nobody wants to be the first to let their guard down, it is sad, it is exhausting, it keeps us all isolated, because we are so afraid of being hurt that we never allow ourselves to be truly loved. Nobody wants to chill anymore, everything has become transactional, calculated, people are constantly evaluating, constantly deciding if you are worth the risk, forgetting that love is not about risk management, it is about vulnerability, it is about showing up messy and imperfect and trusting that your softness will not be used against you.
