I wrote an essay that’s been on my mind for a very long time. It’s not the whole story, but it’s a snapshot that chronicles what I’ve personally witnessed and experienced over the last several years. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to read it. theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/0…

My favorite person in the world just started a Substack: The Inner Ascent 🌱 After losing both parents in back-to-back years — her mother to cancer in 2024 and her father in a tragic accident in 2025 — she discovered that three “roots” held her through the devastation: faith, community, and purpose. Drawing on her medical training, neuroscience, and her own lived experience, she’ll write weekly about building the inner infrastructure that helps people not just survive hardship, but grow through it. Replying to @AskRobinhood
@AskRobinhood Hey Robinhood, I'm a longtime customer and generally very happy. When will you allow us to gift stock and other assets to charity, ideally with no fees (since it's a charitable donation)? All other major brokerages have this feature.

It would be even better if you could open up API integrations to giving platforms like @DaffyGiving. That would make life so much easier for those of us who give to charity and would enable more donations to get to those who need them.

Meanwhile in Texas people are using the Whataburger app to track power outages because the electric company there doesn’t have one
The Whataburger app works as a power outage tracker, handy since the electric company doesn't show a map. Still nearly 1.9 million power outages.
