let the agent find the route, calculate the gas, prepare the transaction…
then let hardware ask the only question that matters:

smart software is great

a friend once sent me a screenshot of his crypto wallet on whatsapp to prove he’d made a transaction
he was in a hurry, so he just screenshotted the whole screen and hit send
the transaction was fine, but then I noticed the screenshot showed his balance, recent transactions, and other wallet details he probably didn't mean to share
he later deleted the message, but it got me thinking, we expose data surprisingly easily when we're just trying to get something done

ran what looked like a normal install command
that command installed nova stealer
it grabs sessions, credentials, wallet data
anything the computer can already reach
if the keys live on that same machine
owning the machine means owning the wallet
hardware changes that
the laptop can get infected
the keys stay off it
malware can’t just extract them
it still doesn’t save you from signing a bad tx
you still have to check the screen
same rule for agents
let software do the work
keep the last key somewhere it can’t reach
crypto gets messy when your assets live everywhere
one wallet, one signer, one less headache
hackers don’t take days off, so security teams can’t either
the real flex is staying ahead of threats before they become headlines
you don’t need to have everything figured out

he was auditing the landlord
they put an AI agent inside a VM and told it to escape
quick context because you’ll probably see these two words a lot:
a VM is basically a fake computer running inside a real computer (Virtual Machine)
when you use that isolated environment to contain an agent, that’s the sandbox
so think:
VM = the box
sandbox = using the box to keep the AI contained
then they told the agent to find a way out
it did
they patched it
it escaped again
they patched it again
then it spent hours researching the software around the VM, found previously unknown vulnerabilities and chained 3 zero-days together to escape again
that’s the part that matters
the sandbox wasn’t useless
the AI just got good enough to start looking for cracks in the walls
