That’s a wrap on Small G Proteins Meeting 2025!
🌟 Highlights:
💡 Insightful talks from all career stages
❓ Q&A from ECRs encouraged (thanks for my honourable mention for participation!)
🧫 Broad cell biology topics and methods
💊 Clinical angles alongside fundamental research
💬 Loved asking questions, learning from so many great discussions and connecting with scientists across different backgrounds. Thanks to @BiochemSoc for organising such a brilliant #BiochemEvent!
Final Session 6 SGP2025:
🎯 Biomechanical signatures & potential targets in cancer
🧬 Rho and Cdc42 regulation via PTMs, localisation & degradation in cancer and immunodeficiencies
⚙️ Nuclear force feedback loops via Rnd3 modulate actomyosin tension
@BiochemSoc #BiochemEvent
Last day of the #SmallGproteins meeting, great evening last night meeting researchers in the field hearing about people’s journeys, and gave advice on expressing a phosphorylated GTPase.
Looking forward to Session 6 kicked off by @VickySanzMoreno!

SGP25 Sessions 4 & 5:
🧬 Lipid sensing, β-catenin, and phosphorylation reshape GTPase signalling
⚙️ Mechanical forces & trafficking: nuclear F-actin, actin-Rab27a, plexins, & COL1
⚡️Cancer cell adaptation through RhoA, Rac1 SUMOylation, and KRAS rewiring
@BiochemSoc #BiochemEvent
SGP25 Session 3:
Theme of molecular glues…
⛓️ Tri-complex inhibitor as molecular glue for oncogenic RAS
💊 Combining inhibitors to combat KRAS-driven cancer
🎯 p120RasGAP molecular glue targeting RAS
🔢 Mathematical modelling to study RAS activity
@BiochemSoc #BiochemEvent
SGP25 Session 2 (Part 2):
🧬 RAP1GDS1 isoform regulates KRAS signalling & lysosomal function in lung adenocarcinoma
❓Oncogenic KRAS may not alter Akt/ERK pathways
☠️ p190RhoGAP paralogs show synthetic lethality in endometrial cancer
@BiochemSoc #BiochemEvent
SGP25 Session 1 (Part 2):
🧫 Overcoming RAS resistance: biobanks & precision medicine
💊 Adaptive immunity enhances KRAS inhibitor activity
🔬 Organoids reveal allele-specific tumour growth
💥 Plus ARL15, RhoGDI1, RalGEF, SOS1/2 & proteomics pipelines
@BiochemSoc #BiochemEvent
SGP25 Session 1 (Part 1):
⛓️ Mapping KRAS interactomes in organoid models
🧬 Isoform-specific KRAS: one mutation, big difference
🔬 Novel tool tracks Ras mutation dynamics in vivo
✨ And a reminder that clear science communication empowers patients!

Just kicking off at the Small G Proteins Meeting 2025 after lunch meeting scientists from all over the world - Barcelona, Connecticut, New York - and it’s encouraging to see a programme with both early career researchers and group leaders presenting!

Excited to be selected as one of the Social Media Contributors at the #BiochemEvent Small G Proteins Meeting next week, thanks to @BiochemSoc.
I look forward to hearing about and discussing the latest research in the area as well as presenting my own PhD work about Arf proteins!
🚨 Excited to share my first preprint! 🚨
I developed a bioinformatics pipeline to identify novel drug targets in multidrug-resistant bacteria as part of my Master’s research.
Check it out here: biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…
A fortnight ago I had the chance to present my PhD research at #Biologists100 — gave a flash talk, presented my poster, and had great chats at the brilliant ECR careers session.
Big thanks to @Co_Biologists & @Official_BSCB for the opportunity!
