Twitter/X has has been a powerful platform for science, & I’ve benefited lots as an ECR. But I can’t condone the direction it’s taking and who’s at the helm. I’ll stick around for a while longer but have officially made the move to Bluesky. Follow me there @imo-b.bsky.social.

Excellent and important thread. Not only is Haidt's book unhelpfully one-sided, it's also misleading and inaccurate.
So, @JonHaidt announced he would put corrections for "The Anxious Generation" on his website. So, far there is only one entry on the recently created page. After reading the book, I think there should be many more. Maybe we can crowdsource a proper errata page?
Blanket bans on social media for young people is the wrong move. This takes rights away from young people, cuts them off from a core part of their social world and identity, and misdirects the rightful blame on social media giants.
